We're still making good on our promise to you to follow the money.  This time, we show you how much unions have given lawmakers on health care reform.  Watch this video clip and if you haven't already, check out my previous post on the health care industry.  Oh, and don't forget to tell me what you think.

Corp represent very few people . Just a few CEO-S

Unions represent MILLIONS of people AND MILLIONS OF OTHERS

You do not have any coprehension

You must be reading a script

AMERICA FIRST JOBS JODS JOBS JOBS JOBS

Rick, While you may think I have a cadillac health care plan, my health care insurance that my union fought for me to keep also cost me my raise for three years in our last contract negotiations. Any many workers across the country have taken concessions just like my local union did so that we can keep quality health insurance for our families. Workers, union workers , are the backbone of this country. Why would you want our health insurance taxed? Im glad my union has someone in Washington fighting for me!!!!!

James   November 11th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

Tell like it is. You the man Rick !! Backbone of America ?? What planet are you on Pat?? Unions repesent less than 15% of the workforce. What concessions, you still make incredibly high salaries and have so many unneccesary work rules to protect the ones that need to be fired and do nothing to praise or give incentives to the ones that work hard.
Ever heard of Hiring Halls in Detroit ?

By the way, I'm a union contractor. Thanks for your unbiased honesty Rick.

Beau Sherman   November 12th, 2009 8:58 am ET

Rick,
This is why we need reform. It is sad when the money speaks louder than the voters.

David Ketterer   November 12th, 2009 10:06 am ET

Rick, You know very little about union contracts. I wish to tell you about mine with the I.B.E.W.. We negotiate a salary increase with our signed contractors, then this dollar value comes back to the body where we devide it up within our benefits and a paycheck increase.
The dollar value that that we the body elect to our H&W Fund (which is excellent) is classified as a contractor contribution for IRS purposes. Meaning we get no tax deductions for this elected value. In my Local we also give up the overtime 1 1/2 for this money. This means, because of this election we actually give a dollar value back to the contractors.
Now because we choose to take care of ourselves and our families health first , you feel we should pay an additional penalty tax, because we are UNION!
Rick, do your homework before you continue to program our society with your twisted views on UNIONS. We built this country and its benefits,S.S, Pensions, H&W, all with the Democratic Party.
If your views on this this subject are as true as you expressed them, then I feel that you are working for the wrong news group and should consider sending your resume to Fox News!

Carl   November 12th, 2009 11:52 am ET

The unions and politicians pushing for "Card Check". It will get worse as long as the politicians keep taking bribes. Opps...I mean favors.

Drew   November 12th, 2009 3:26 pm ET

Rick
Attacking unions for their so-called Cadillac Health Care plans is a new low for you. Almost all remaining union members in the last eight years have seen their wages slashed, their pensions frozen or cancelled, and their work rules significantly altered. Having a decent health care is one one the few benefits left for many as union members. In your fight, via absurd reporting, to end ALL benefits to union members, may I suggest that you team up with Glenn Beck. You could call yourselves, the Dynamic Duo of Journalistic Incompetents. Good luck

RE: Immigrant Children. You preesent the side of good kids who a reasonable person would agree deserve consideration. We have one law that must fit all. You don't present the case of the illegals (yes illegals) who arrive here without documents and give little kids. Often these folks do not pay taxes; send back money to their country and the support services in border states have foot the bill. Unfortunately some good cases are caught up in the mill. I feel badly about that and perhaps there needs to be a hearing to justify staying. I like you Rick; but you have a very soft spot on this issue and you are reluctant to see the downsides of illegal immigration. As you said today, we cannot just have open borders. I could not go to France or to Spain or even to Mexico and expect them to provide support services; force citizens people to learn another language in order to do daily functions. I doubt it

John Gwazdosky   November 12th, 2009 4:26 pm ET

Rick Sanchez would be the perfect replacement for the slot that Lou Dobbs used to fill. Rick's style and honesty for the FACTS as best he can determne them would be so refreshing. America we needs this man to talk to us each evening to keep up abreast of the goings on in our country and how the Senate is just a whore for the lobbyist. Rick would expose what these Senator are getting paid for their vote. They do not represent you's and me's of America!

I don't expect this question to be answered on air because you don't like the tough questions. But why is a story about Carrie Prejean on the news, and theres nothing about the America Pilot that got grounded for being drunk at an airport just before trying to fly from London to the U.S? You avaid the tough questions but then you pick on Carrie Prejean?

Alberto Ortega   November 12th, 2009 4:47 pm ET

RE: Prejean incident;
this is an example of conservative women and what they are all about, as sarah palin; willing to discuss only their convenience, and willing to walk away and abandon their post, hence, palin-ized!
my wife is a conservative woman and i question her, she never runs away; if palin and prejean are to represent conservative women, first, they ought to grow basic believes.

Jon Bertram   November 12th, 2009 4:52 pm ET

In your segment on the documentary "Papers" you ask why an illegal 18 year old who claimed he and his parents were law abiding ciitzens. It's not true. They broke our immigration laws. Should be deported.? Don't you believe in equal treatment under the law? When it comes to Hispanics it doesn't seem so. There are people who've applied for entrance into the US who are waiting for background checks and trying to meet other qualifications who are waiting to get in. You want this man to be given special consideration. That takes time. Time we don't have because we are overloaded with guarding the border, sifting throud illegals already here, and fighting in the courts to enforce the law. This parents need to take their kids and go back to Argentina to wait in line like people who are really law abiding. Your coverage on matters like this isn't fair and balanced..

Marinellie Ferrer   November 12th, 2009 4:54 pm ET

We just heard about the young man that ia going to be deported...can he be adopted by a US family? After all, as per your interview he is a model citizen. Those we want in the future of our country. Why deny him the opportunity to study. Perhaps he can get a student visa?

Judy   November 12th, 2009 4:59 pm ET

I was very upset about your comment on the illegal aliens...Do you realize how much money Oregon spend on that young man and any of the others that are illegal? If you aren't here legally you should have no rights to any of the benefits. As for the "dream" bill...if my senator votes for it I would be tempted to start a drive to have him removed from office. And Pres. Obama thinks he going in the back door to get the illegals medical care at our expense by making them legal... he should be ashamed.

A. Smith   November 12th, 2009 5:01 pm ET

When huge corporations routinely buy Republican Congress and Senators by the handful to pass bills which moves nearly all of their paid employees to New Deli, India and out of America, IT IS TIME to raise the Corporate Tax Rate to level the playing field of undue influence.

I think what Andrew is saying is so true. Everyone in Wall Street is just out for themselves. Plain selfishness. No loyalties. Excellent news and excellent guest Rick.

Jose   November 12th, 2009 5:07 pm ET

If Prejean finished the show and did another segment with Larry, why are you so upset?

Jose   November 12th, 2009 5:09 pm ET

Is it appropriate to mention Prejean's "breast's enhanced" for the pageant?

Jose   November 12th, 2009 5:12 pm ET

It's touching to see you and Larry King have such a close and tight relationship, but Larry is a big boy, I'm sure he can handle his own.

Jose   November 12th, 2009 5:13 pm ET

Wow Rick, I never heard you being so unprofessional before. You went on personal attacks against Prejean.

Deece   November 12th, 2009 5:14 pm ET

How can the "Papers" documentary claim his parents have always paid taxes during their unlawful stay in the US? They're undocumented so they obviously do not have a work visa. They also do not have an SSN. It is illegal for them to be working in the US. Either they are working under the table for cash (tax evasion) or they are using a fake or stolen SSN (identity fraud / theft). Obviously they would have no choice but to pay sales tax. They can't avoid it. We all have to pay it so that is not a legitimate argument in their defense.

Jean   November 12th, 2009 5:15 pm ET

Beware, Rick Sanchez:
There are times that I inform my contemporaries that when I put my finger to the keyboard, I have an idea what I am going to say but only God knows what I will really say and the length of the writing.
The picture of Our Lord's Sacred Heart is on the wall near my computer, looking down at me with His hands wide opened as if saying: "Come to Me" and "Come and See" which is what He is saying to those who make fun of His Church, His Religion and people who would like to straighten up their life as this young lady Carrie.
A picture of The Ever Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Dearly Beloved Blessed Lady is on my desk, as if looking at me. This is, no doubt, from whom, where and how I receive my inspiration and to write.
Is there anyone and on CNN as well to defend Carrie Prejean and speak up on her behalf? She may have acted in whatever manner she did on the Larry King Live show. I observed her and how annoyed she was, ready to walk off from the program. I did not make an issue out of it. This may not be the first time that it happened to someone.
She may have had a kind of lifestyle which she lied about but is she different from many of her critics, Media and otherwise, all in different ways?
What further annoyed her is that this so-called gay man telephoned and said that he is gay...and asked her a question, supposedly seeking advice from her. This really got to her.
Viewers will obviously interpret her reaction in different ways, according to their mentality.
If I were in her position, it would get to me too (I am not referring to Larry) that a gay man introduced himself as "I am gay"... Did he have to bring this up? Mortal and spiritual enlightenment is required here.
I do not think that man was up to any good. He was not genuine. It appeared to me that he was making a mockery of her. His lifestyle is not one to be proud of and by no means for him to shout about and inform the entire world. We genuine practicing Christians and/or religious people are not interested to hear them. OK! I would like to see them go before God and say I am gay. Know where they will end up for all eternity.
I recently heard a program where the late Archbishop Fulton Sheen said in his own words: "We do not want dictators on earth. We do not want dictators also in Heaven." Touche in French.
I am an avid CNN viewer and I do not wish to hear about these people and their escapades, forcing their beliefs on us. I do not have to be subject to listening to them say I am gay. I have my opinion as well and I will speak up as they do.
In this case, Carrie was within her rights to get upset.
This other man on your show today who spoke about religion, stating that people said Carrie is not what she projects to be. I will inform you that there are many people who are the exact opposite of what they seem and if only the world could see and hear them when they are behind their closed doors at home, they would be shocked about their overall attitude. You should know that as well. Everyone has two sides to them, if not more than two sides.
This also reminds me that the late US Archbishop Fulton Sheen stated: "God has two pictures of us. What we are (at present) and what we could be." In other words what Our Lord Jesus Christ expects of us and the manner in which He sees us at present.
This explains people in general.
Please give Carrie a break. When the Media and people get hold of the personal information of others and their lifestyle, they never let go of it. They paint them as being worst than they themselves in the present and what they were in the past. They, too, act as if they are angels and saints and did absolutely nothing wrong in their life or that they did not project bad examples and are not presently living an unbecoming lifestyle. It is an unforgiving society.
Keep in mind The Sinner of Magdala or that Christians refer to her as Mary Magdalene. Our Lord Jesus Christ said: "Let he who is without sin caste the first stone..."
Only God is forgiving and only God forgets when people ask Him for forgiveness. Human beings who will be in dire need of God's forgiveness do not forgive or forget. Their day will come when they stand before God for their eternal judgment, even a mini one on this earth.
God bless you Rick.

Union are an outside influence preventing true competition and free market forces to act. While short sightedly they may appear to help a great deal of people, in the big picture they are extremely detrimental.

drnjbmd   November 12th, 2009 6:02 pm ET

Absolutely, the unions are getting their money's worth in terms of benefits from their lobbying dollars. Those premium health plans have enabled many of the union folks to be able to not have to take responsibility for their health. After all, they don't have to pay the high premiums that the rest of us who are not under union contracts have to pay. The costs of providing the high tech health benefits demanded by those premium plan owners also drives up the cost of delivery of health care.

We could finance the coverage of the uninsured by taxing those health benefits . We also should not forget that insurance companies who are more concerned with their profits, could cover the uninsured right now if they wanted to.

Sherry   November 12th, 2009 7:18 pm ET

Rick I believe that you were wrong in what you said about Miss Prejean. She is a woman that stood up for what she believed in and was called every name in the book for it. When a person says NO they mean NO. Larry was trying to get Carrie to mess up on the show. Just like all you do! If you tell your child NO, do you have to give them a long expaination on why you said NO. Carrie stood up for what she believed in. Christian are sinners and make mistakes, but we are forgiven when we ask for it.

Serge   November 12th, 2009 7:32 pm ET

Follow uo
Rick if you continue to follow up the money trail!! You might wound up to have the people realize that with all that money HEAlTH CARE for all would be at no cost!!"

Mary from Oregon   November 12th, 2009 7:49 pm ET

I worked for United Airlines for 14 years as a member of the IAM for 12 of those years. The union contract/employment contract I agreed to included wage and benefit parameters. All those were tossed when UAL filed bankruptcy and was allowed to do whatever they wanted to to the workers so that the string of CEO's and their related regimes could walk out with multimillion dollar golden parachute packages.
So, Rick, now that the years I and all the other UAL workers that worked for a particular wage and benefit package have already been screwed. We are now lucky to have access at retirement to a group policy, and believe me, it is no cadillac plan. My prescriptions come from Taiwan, Mexico, China and India. My routine mammogram took a 3 month wait for the appointment. Shall I go on? And that retirement? Well, poof! So, now without the retirement, I have to pay for the insurance plans that were supposed to be a part of my retirement.
Yes, the unions are fighting for those benefits to not be taxed because those benefits were part of our compensation for the work we did.
No, I do not believe that $ should go to any political party or person for their support. Their support should be provided for their constituents as part of their compensation they receive by the government in their salary/wages and benefits.
Shame on every one of them that takes contributions from unions or industry or special causes.

Brian   November 12th, 2009 10:07 pm ET

It's hard to choose where to begin my criticism of your piece on campaign donations from organized labor. Notice I referred to unions as "organized labor" because that's what unions are: workers who have organized themselves into a united front to earn a fair wage.

For those writing above and elsewhere that union workers get "ridiculously high salaries: the sad thing is, it's not that union workers get such high wages, it's that people who work in the same industries but aren't unionized get a ridiculously low wage for the vital hard work they perform. Some, not all, of those union wages allow workers to be middle class, barely. A generation ago, two generations ago, many more jobs than today provided a wage that allowed workers to live a middle class lifestyle, the traditional American dream, whether they were , union or not. Unfortunately, over that last 40 years, costs of goods, especially healthcare, have increased dramatically quicker and at a higher rate than wages and the average corporate executive has taken a much larger share of the company's profits with their as their salaries increased at an exponentially greater rate than those who work at lower levels . Now, fewer and fewer workers are provided a middle class paycheck or provided with the benefits they deserve.

Union members are lucky enough to be among those who may still attain these salaries and benefits, which, combined with the above examples of economic changes, demonstrates perfectly why unions are a necessary force for good. Unions allow workers who, negotiating on their own, can see their wages and benefits decrease while their productivity and company profits rise but organized workers, through collective bargaining, bring greater weight to the negotiating table as the whole cannot be exploited as easily as the individual. Rick Sanchez and other poor, misguided people would look at unions who represent workers fighting to keep their healthcare coverage free of taxes, which is something anyone with those benefits would want and deserve and compare them to the insurance companies who have increased their fees and profits hundreds of times faster than wages? Ridiculous and ignorant.

Thanks.

Rick , The more I think about it .....I bet Larry King set Miss Prejean up and made sure there was a phone call from a gay person. HOW did that just happen? Go back an look at his shocked look on Larry ....I got caught!

Fran   November 13th, 2009 9:50 am ET

Hey Rico,
You know what, that 20 million dollars was made in the USA, by United States citizens and American workers .

Question, how much does CNN, FOX or any other of the TV stations pay you guys. Do you know I was a Union member for almost 30 years, and my top pay was 688.00 dollars a week. Not much for a Union member huh.....
All of you commemtators need to check all the Union contracts before you start dishing on them. Union protects America. and I will be glad when American companies realize if they continue to make it in China, or elsewhere, they will go complelely under. How can American people buy when they have no jobs. You bring the jobs back to America, we make the money, get the unemployment down from the under posted numbers and then America can buy again.
Doesnt take a Rocket Sciencetist to figure that out.

The jobs or money did not come from China, Vietnam, or any other of the 3rd world countries. It was MADE IN AMERICA,
So, maybe if some of the American billionares (who send their companies overseas) would bring back the jobs, the Union workers wouldn't have to support America.
I dare you to Post this

Fran

Please tell me how terrorists from another country, who have committed an act of war on our country by killing thousands of Americans, are allowed the same rights and privileges as any citizen under our Constitution? How is that possible? How are you going to find them an impartial jury of their peers? What kind of people would that be? A jury of terrorists? Are we going to be so politically correct that we are not only going to hand them the knife, but bare our necks as well? Our justice system is not perfect. You can't tell me that there is not the possibility of these guys walking! Have we not seen murderers go free under our judicial system? How do terrorists get the same rights as you and me? Please, I want someone to answer this question, damn it!

Ogedi   November 13th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

If health care benefits were provided to workers through a government option plan (or single payer), that would unburden companies of a huge expense in that they would not have to pay out of pocket for such coverages and Union workers would benefit also as they would not need the Unions to argue their cause for health care benefits. Health care would become a non-issue. We would all benefit, so, Rick, why are you sneering at the Unions and why would not paying taxes for this compensation be a bad thing? Some companies may take this as an opportunity to increase profits and pay their board members more money, but others may spread this savings to the workers, lower their sale price, and become more competitive. It will be greed that destroys this country not the unions. Case in point- see how the auto industry moved from Detroit to Toronto!

Joe Mussell   November 13th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

Rick,

Yes we are Rick. I am a union bricklayer who knows first hand the corruption involved in electing our puppets. The union officials tell us at meetings and call us by phone to inform us how to vote and even want us to campaign for the canidates.
In short Rick. People like Pelosi, Reed, and Franken are nothing more than puppets, and we are their puppet masters. The proof is in the dough that we allow them to have in order to get themselves elected. It corruption at its finest.

Independent Joe (Mn)

As former union member the first question I ask is, how many people would 20 million $ employ? GM is a prime example of what happens when the union runs your company.

I am absolutley stunned that it in 2009 there are still people trying to curtail the freedom of others. The administrator of the RCC has NO RIGHT to abuse his position by forcing his personal beliefs on to others. If you dont believe in abortion, fine then dont get one!! but how dare you take away that right to other women. It is not your life, not your choice, not your business! People need to stop trying to dictate the lifestyle of others! By doing so, they have stood against every American ideal of freedom.

Religion is what gives people their mentality. The aim of the muslim religion is to convert everyone to their religion, and if they do not comply, they are murdered. My Grandmother's entire family was murdered in Iran because they would not convert to islam, they are Christian until the end! They were all killed and she was a new born left on the cold floor to die! Religious extremists are "human" extremists...any form of "extreme" is bad! Especially in religion which gives the very value of life!

About the school teacher "fired" ... Are you really so narrow-minded to suggest that this could only happen at a Christian school and not at a public school? Is your thinking so simplistic that your would think that only a bunch of "church ladies" would bring this up? Get a grip! Christian, Jew, Muslim, any other religion or lack of religiion ... all have people that would have "butted in" and all have people that would not have. Are perhaps you the one with a Christian issue?

Carrie Prejean said one thing right: "women should stick together." I only wish the women in HER life stuck closer to her, maybe they could have prevented her from making a compete fool of herself on Larry King Live and disrespecting Larry on HIS show! I also live by the rule "if my father wouldn't like it I won't do it", one thing my father taught me is to always respect those older than you! 22 year old child is sitting on TV while we have so many crisis' going on, acting like an uneducated girl and promoting a book.

You seem to think that the free trade is good, the unions are bad,and that all of south and central america has the right to come here to work or whatever. The effect of this on working folks is disastrous. If your job can be done overseas,it is outsourced. If it can't be done elsewhere, unless it requires a special skill,it is done by a huge pool of illegals. You try to appear as a liberal ,but as far as the most important issues go(like whether most real americans will have a decent job)you are in league with corporate america like Rush Limbaugh.

I was raised by a union worker ...when he finally decided to go back to work after two years of arguing over greed and wanting more benefits (strike) ...he crossed the picket line and went back to work which is what good hard-working men do...the union threatened our lives as well as other malicious acts I don't have the time nor energy to share here. I know ONE thing...I learned a lot back then. I will always be a republican and have very little respect for unions. I think they are lazy, crooked and quite frankly EVIL.
We had the best health care on the planet! He was over-paid for the work he did and had more vacation than any white-collar worker out there...what the heck was the problem??? GREED! That was the problem. Entitlement and GREED. Unions are greedy. Period.

crystaloconnor   November 14th, 2009 6:59 pm ET

TO Melissa E above...Agreeing to abort a child is not a choice or a LIFESTYLE as you mention above. It is murder.
Maybe educating yourself on the subject of abortion and what it really is will help you sound intelligent. You will never make any sense or win a debate by not understanding the facts. Please do that before you open your mouth.

crystaloconnor   November 14th, 2009 7:03 pm ET

One more comment: If America is Freedom to you how in the world do you say within the same argument that MURDER is FREEDOM?
Abortion is killing a child that has no CHOICE and their rights taken away...how is that freedom and how is that CHOICE?
I think you have been brain washed by broken, sad women.

In re: the gross amounts of money being passed to Senators through lobyists.

I believe we should do away with "payola" like in the 50's. It's an insult to the people who are trying to make "informed" decisions (are there any?) and it is certainly sickening to those of us out here waiting for "affordable and excellent" healthcare. It is also discusting that some say healthcare is not a right. That's exactly saying "yes, we have a cure for what you have, but for you it's unavailable." That is exactly what some of the comments coming out of the Senate and House reads. And, of course, women, they do not deserve anything that a man doesn't get, regardless of their station in life. Where the heck is "EQUALITY?"

I'll tell you what the union did for me after I fell at work and hurt my back they agreed with the company to leave me in the front office on light duty for 4 1/2 years then closed the plant . And of course I am the one that got the shaft. Of all the people that was before me never got to do this, not because I had any pull but because the company new when they bought us it was gona close! Now I sit here in pain day after day because I have no insurance because of the back condition. Before I was for the unions now they are all like the rest in Washington, This is how I feel about the insurance what ever they (congress &senate) pass they also shall have to accept just like the rest of us!! they have it made with good ins. and getting all the goodies from the big INSURANCE Companys!!
thanks for being there

Hi Rick, I love your show. Here is a tivo comment....is there any way to change the title of your show from Cnn Newsroom to Rick Sanchez show so I can Tivo it ? Otherwise, I have five other shows that record under that Title...which takes up to much space! Thanks again for giving all us thought provoking dinner time conversations with our families. Sincerely, Laurie in Denver

Interesting that these Patriotic Americans who are forming militias are using Russian weapons... doesn't the U.S. make good enough weapons for them to use???

How would the paramilitary groups feel if they were arrested, sent to GITMO and held there for 8 years without a trial. It seems to me that we have lost more civil liberties during the last admin than ever before. I am a gun rights advocate.

Dr. W. David Berglund   November 16th, 2009 7:00 pm ET

Hi Rick: You are the best.
Unions can not compete with special interests like AHIP, PhARMA, AHA or the AMA, health care should have has a goal to become better and less expensive every year, since that is what technology does? Just look at cell phones and computers, Rick, but some how high tech means higher health care. Something is rotten in Denmark, Rick...watching Glenn Beck and it is much deeper Rick, since South Park made fun of him. He held up a picture of George Washington. The Medical care for George in those days was a good blood letting or a good amputation. The women that helped people heal with herbs and roots were drowned or set on fire. There were some rough town hall meetings in the good old days.

Dr. W. David Berglund   November 16th, 2009 7:05 pm ET

Hey Rick: You are the best. President Obama should use reverse psychology on the Republicans... Say he is going to do the opposite of what he really wants to do. When all of the Republicans speak out , then he just says, yea, what a great idea, I wish I would of thought of it...wink wink nudge nudge..Tort reform is smoke because you can't sue a doctor.

Thank you for eliminating the Lou Dobbs show. We really appreciated his perspective . . . until the past presidential elections. He went too far to the right – too biased -definitely not fair broadcasting. His comments and perspective became argumentative and irrational – angry. For the past year we have immediately switched stations at 7pm – sadly going to a competitors station that's too far to the left for us but we just could not take Lou any more. We're back – no need to change stations – its great to see John Roberts tonight. Thank you for your renewed commitment to balanced, fair reporting.

Rick:

I am so tired of people thinking that working at the "Big Three" is the best paying jobs ever and the employees have the highest income compared to other workers. Here's THE TRUTH:

My middle son works at Chrysler in Trenton, MI and has "highest seniority of over 10 years". Over the past 5-6 years, the UNION (UAW) has demanded concessions of employees in everything from their health care, no more Christmas bonuses, no more COLA, no more 3% bonus' , no more 'profit sharing bonuses, they even moved to freeze their wages for the last year!

The workers have more control of the quality of the products they make, the amount of cars that are built, however Management cares more about "quantity" than "quality."

UAW/Chrysler have also "CUT" Retiree's benefits – they have No dental, No vision, etc. After working for a company for over 30 years it is inhumane to cut their benefits when they were 'promised' all that when they retired.

So I just wanted to make sure everyone knows THE TRUTH – union workers have given and given and given just to keep their jobs. So they are not overpaid at all. Get the truth out there!

the new breast cancer guidelines are insane. How could they all of a sudden decide this. When for years we have been preached to about how important mammos are for early detection. I am an example how mammos save lives. At my regular clinical exam I was told everything was normal. I was sent for my yearly mammo after that at age 46 and that mammo showed a milignant tumor that the doctor did not find. This is clearly a money issue.

Rick, I keep hearing healthcare reform will ration healthcare and will compromise care we are now receiving. I have not seen my physician for over five years. I'm seen each visit by a nurse practitioner, whom seems very competent, but if I want an appointment with the physician there is an at least three month wait. The co-pay for an office visit and the amount the insurance company pays for an office visit though is the same as if I have seen the doctor. What's wrong with this picture! Also, I get flu shots etc. from my neighborhood pharmacy & pay for it myself which is 1/2 the cost rather than going to the doctors office for it. Congress and specifically the republicans just don't get it!

MARY GRIFFIN   November 20th, 2009 6:21 pm ET

Rick Ithink we should tax golden health policies, let start with senaten and the house. they should be paying thier own health care. We should have all of thier tax returns checked. If thier behind we should take it from the pay.
all offices should have to use the same amount of money to run for any office. this would take away the pressure from special interest groups.

Watching the healthcare debate live would be great comedy if the issue wasn't so serious. McCain, Grassley, Enzi seriously sound like like they are at a Mr. Rogers convention. All that was missing was lieberman (but he must have found more cameras somewhere else)

Thanks republicans-Thanks for making it so clear that you are hands down schills for the insurance companies-and for solidfying my decision not to ever vote republican again– Your lack of compassion has turned independents from your party for the next century. And please stop saying you speak for the American people. You speak for your own ambitions and the two worst industries in America today; big pharma and private health insurance companies.

crystaloconnor   November 28th, 2009 2:28 am ET

I feel like I am listening to children whine...like my kids in the other room all under the age of 10. Why do so many people think they are entitled to everything just because they breath air. If you worked hard, saved, invested and educated yourselves you wouldn't have to worry about us horrible REPUBLICANS trying to cheat you out FREE HEALTH CARE. For God sake, go to one of the many third world countries for a month...and you'd be damn glad you live here. And for crying out loud, quit expecting hand outs...who do you think you are....the 2nd coming? You already get free health care when you walk into a free clinic. Remember? You've done it before.

Adren jarrid   December 1st, 2009 5:30 pm ET

From time to time I check in on Ricky. And, it continues to be true that everything he says, every position he takes, there is always a clear liberal bias. From illegal immigration to former Beauty Pageant winner Ms Prejean. He is so full of himself.

Why isn't CNN covering "climate gate"? If what thes e -mails purport, isn't that at least newsworthy and at worht looking into? If the tables were turned and the anti-global warming theorists were cooking the books, I'm convinced it woould be on CNN's radar screen and thoroughly ivestigated.

Bradford Watts   December 2nd, 2009 1:46 pm ET

GM customer Service is a sham.
I have had a 2008 GM vehicle that has been in and out of the serviuce department since i leased it. Why are the Customer Service representatives always stalling and never giving you a chance to talk to a decision maker when there is a major concern. I have a developing story that I think ALL Americans should hear. I have been rudely treated and undervalued as a consumer. As a hard working American. I want to know if others feel this way

Lin   December 3rd, 2009 10:18 am ET

If you're gonna follow the money... Why aren't you:

Investigating Planned Parenthood?? – A "non-profit" that makes money hand-over-fist and wants more of YOUR tax dollars... CNN ignores – hmm... you're getting kickbacks?

The whole Abortion Industry>> - an awful lot of money here! PP's biggest profit center, and one of the reasons their "planning" helps "clients" fail ... thus needing more abortions. Hey, if abortion is soooo good for women and our nation, why don't "supporters" fund it directly from the goodness of their frozen little hearts? CNN ignores – hmm... you're getting kickbacks?

Acorn... why do we continure to ignore it all?? Caught on tape... Caught dumping some pretty wild documents... CNN ignores – hmm... you're getting kickbacks?

ClimateGate - sheesh! Boxer completely ignores the message, and says the messengers should be prosecuted?? Where was she when Palin's personal email was hacked? Guess MS. Boxer wasn't on Palin's payroll? CNN ignores – hmm... you're getting kickbacks?

A News Network (c stands for "??") should go after news not attempt to attack their enemies (why would a news outlet have enemies – other than those they were exposing) and protect their friends and pet politics ( and why would a news outlet have friends and pet politics?? )
