Nidal Malik Hasan rose to the rank of Major in the U.S. Army, despite a documented history of concern expressed by his supervisors, and the FBI's awareness that he was communicating with a cleric who preached jihad against the west.

Wow. Really?

Rick's guest in this clip is James Yee. You may remember Yee as the Army chaplain who was accused of helping Islamic detainees at Guantanamo.

He has his own ideas about Major Hasan, and his apparently successful career. He also shares what it's like to be an observant Muslim in the ranks of the United States military.

You know I'm all about "Follow The Money", and I've got another one for you.

It's one of those cases of the suits getting paid "no matter what". Here's the deal: A congressional investigation looked at some of the biggest companies that turned their pension plans over to the government, because they were losing money.

The GAO found that the top executives of FOUR of those big companies got almost $50 MILLION in retirement and other benefits, while their employees saw their traditional pension plans slashed...in some cases by A LOT.

Read the GAO report by clicking here.

You'll see companies highlighted representing three industries: 2 airlines, an electronics company, and an insurance firm. We've confirmed those companies as USAirways, United Airlines, Polaroid, and Reliance Insurance.

All of those companies declared bankruptcy, the government took over the pensions, but the top executives got millions in pay and perks!

Read the report. I was appalled. Tell me if you are too.

Rick's guests: two journalists who spent much of the 2008 election season embedded with the Sarah Palin Vice-Presidential campaign.

It failed, of course.

Rick's guests wrote a book called "Sarah From Alaska". They have a fascinating inside look at where the campaign may have come off the rails.

Sarah Palin is back.

One year after the demise of her Vice Presidential campaign, she suddenly seems to be everywhere.

Among other things, she says she wasn't particularly surprised when Sen. John McCain offered her the nomination.

Palin uses her new book to continue attacking Democrats, some Republicans and members of the media, but her harshest criticism is reserved for Sen. McCain's campaign staff, which she accuses of sugar-coating her 17-year-old daughter's pregnancy.

In this clip, I ask CNN's Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowley to help me pick apart some new opinion polls on Sarah Palin.

Do you think Palin is hawking a 2012 candidacy? You wouldn't be the only one. Watch.

I've recently read "Too Big To Fail" by Andrew Sorkin of the New York Times.  A great read about the meltdown on Wall Street.  And Andrew Sorkin was kind enough to join me on the show.  Watch.

We're still making good on our promise to you to follow the money.  This time, we show you how much unions have given lawmakers on health care reform.  Watch this video clip and if you haven't already, check out my previous post on the health care industry.  Oh, and don't forget to tell me what you think.

We're following the money again, something we promised we'd do on our show, your national conversation.  This time, we're looking at how much the health care companies and the insurance industry, who don't want reform, have given our lawmakers.  You need to see this.  Everyone should see this.  Let me know what you think.  Go on... Click that play button.

Fidel Castro began ruling Cuba after he led the overthrow of Fulgencio Batista in 1959.

Afterward, Juanita Castro stood by her older brother, even working to support him and helped raise money for his political causes.

But things change.

Juanita Castro talks to Rick Sanchez in this clip. To say she's estranged from her brothers Fidel and Raul is an understatement. She hasn't spoken to either of them in more than 40 years.

Now, she explains that she actually was in contact with, and in cooperation with the CIA, and worked against her brother as he brought Cuba closer to Communism.

Rick also asks her: if her brother dies tomorrow, would she return to Cuba to attend his funeral?

Stop fighting the Taliban? Fire Gen. McChrystal? Really?

Rick's fascinating conversation with Scott Ritter went on after the TV show on our Internet-only aftershow called "The Conversation Continues".

Click here to join us every day at 4:00 PM ET.

Rick presses Ritter, the former U.N. weapons inspector in Iraq, on the current state of U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, and where he thinks it should be heading.

If you've ever heard Scott Ritter, you know that he speaks bluntly and unapologetically.

He tells Rick why the current military leadership in Afghanistan should be fired, and where U.S. strategic policy is missing the boat.

Watch.
