There's news, and there's analysis, right? Here's the news: An American man, a scientist, was busted in an international sting. Stewart Nozette thought he was in contact with Israeli operatives, and thought he was in the process of selling them secrets. In reality, he was in contact with the FBI, and now he is in jail. It's a story we've basically heard before.

But read that paragraph again. He thought he was selling secrets to the ISRAELIS. Aren't they our allies? Why would a spy (or wannabe spy like Stewart Nozette) have to sell information to a friendly nation?

Get this: it happens all the time. Governments (including ours) spy on almost all other governments.

This is a fascinating clip. Rick Sanchez talks about Rozette's case with Peter Earnest, who is not only the Executive Director of the International Spy Museum in Washington D.C., he's also a former CIA operative.

Hey Rick, I find it crazy that he would risk his obviously outstanding career doing anything that dangerous and illegal. He must have been pretty confident that he wouldn't be caught or just let his gaurd down, maybe he had been doing this before and became too comfortable.

Just an idea for another show, do you think that they are looking for water on other planets so that some may one day be taking extended trips and vactions, maybe even living on other planets or the moon? DaVinci's painting of John, finger pointing up, signifying that in last days up may be the only place left to go? And think about the capitolism of it all. The elite and rich would be able to escape terrible natural disasters or nuclear war!

I guess Israel is trying to keep their friends closer. Who would blame them? A nation that can defeat any army, overthrow any government at it's whim would be best to have an eye on.

Rick,

You are only jumping on the liberal bandwagon against a great and honest Sheriff Joe. Maybe you should quit and let an illegal alien take your job. That way you can work for liberal MSMBC! Also, you do not report the news like you claim, but you liberalize the news. Sorry, but you are a hypocrite.

Gary Santo   October 20th, 2009 7:28 pm ET

Rick,

CNN should be very proud to have Lou Dobbs as such a great newscaster. You, on the other hand should work for liberal Anti-American MSNBC! And you criticize Fox News as being biased?

Please do not compare black people to illegal aliens. I am a black woman and I have always agreed with what Sheriff Joe is doing in Phoenix. And when did you become a cop Rick. Shame on you. Remember you are Cuban. If you make it out of Cuba, you are automatically given US citizenship as apposed to the Haitians. Think about what you are saying. He is no Bull Connor and quit comparing blacks to illegals. Than you.

Gary Santo   October 21st, 2009 11:44 am ET

Rick,

Keep in mind that a substantial number of legal Latino Americans, who have gone through the American legal immigration system, do not agree with your "care free" illegal alien philosophy. As a matter of fact, it is a slap in the face to our legal system of laws and honest (legal) Latinos. God Bless Sheriff Joe!

Allies are only allies until they are not. Sure we spy on them, and they do the same to us. I think Israel got the tech for nuclear weapons from spying on U.S., and China one of our main trading partners is robbing our techs blind by spying on us. I can`t understand why we haven`t dealt China severe punishment for what they do.

As random attacks by Muslim terrorists inside the United States increase in frequency, how long before we revisit the tactic used on Japanese Americans during World War II? It is perhaps unthinkable now, but after a few sensational attacks, I can guarantee it will become a point of discussion. After suffering a series of events that result in real damage, experiencing increasing fear and with no way of knowing when a handful of neighborhood radicals will decide to set up and conduct their own attack, how can the subject not be considered? When do we reach a tipping point when our sense of fair play is overcome by the need for self preservation? Now is a good time to contemplate what our response will be if the unthinkable comes to pass.

Rick:
I have no problem honoring company contracts I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH paying bonuses to all this CEO'S that obviously have not perform and we have to bail them out. If they were doing their job we will not have to bail them out. People in this country need to start doing what other countries do, go in masses and demand the goverment and the CEO's to return the money. people need to camp out in front of this business headquarters and don't allow the CEO's to leave the building until they make pay back what they borrow. BECAUSE THIS WAS A LOAN TO GET THEIR BUTT OUT OF TROUBLE.

First of all I want to commend you for sustaining your 'Roots' as in keeping it real being a native Miami Cuban Floridian. I am an Afro American teacher at a predominately hispanic/latino high school ...as you know as teachers our students in Miami are of all colors and cultures but what has gotten my attention lately is young teenage blacks and latinos truly seems to socialize the least. I was motivated to make this comment to you based off of your segment about 'America's View on Latinos..very interesting segment..thanks for using your status to VOICE...speaking of which I used the same segment to make a point to my students about knowing their rights and Voicing themslves as citizens of this country...Can you look in to it?

stillahippie   October 22nd, 2009 1:02 pm ET

Yeah well remember the LIBERTY... Spying is what that was about. Another country thought the US Navy spy ship over herd some signals the other country wanted to hide so they tried to burn and sink the LIBERTY

Rick, we watch regularly and love the fact that you are bilingual. WE ARE NOT. I object to complete take over of the English language. I feel strongly that if you live in the United States, you should embrace the language. Please consider what you are doing. You know, a word here and there is one thing. More than that is an invasion.

Tahar   October 22nd, 2009 3:04 pm ET

Rick,

what you say to citigroup that are raising the interst to 29.95% to most of the tax payers that bailed them out. They should all be fired .

The President says CNN is the "real" news channel, but you give more credit to a prankster than actual film documenting ACORN corruption. Whats up there at "the news channel?

Thought a Secret was a secret!! Shouldn't be told to anyone!!! Betraying your country for money!!! Even it's for an ally!!!| It's still treason! Cause today allies might become tomorrow ennemies!!

Cousin Art   October 23rd, 2009 4:57 pm ET

Hey, Arthur, here's an idea:
You and Rick and everyone stop labeling people, all that does is Balkanize us. What is called "diversity may be the most divisive scheme I've ever seen. We are AMERICANS.

A. Smith   October 26th, 2009 4:33 pm ET

With the Republican Party in the White House for the past 20 years with the exception of Bill Clinton, various American based spy agencys have increasingly began to be ever more invasive on American citizens regardless if they are law abiding or not.

Tape recording routine conversations in American Public librarys, domestic phone calls, domestic cell calls, domestic email.

And the question you asked Rick, does America spy on its allies? Of course they do. As the CIA, FBI, NSA etc. etc. spy on law abiding American Citizens without any qualms nor controls, they absolutely spy on foreigners regardless if they are allies or not.

I seriously doubt many Americans realize how damaging and outright dangerous American spy agencys are to achieving true peace and freedom from oppression.

The American CIA trained and created the Taliban, and their hated counterpart The Pakistani ISA. How many died from that continuing fiasco?

The American CIA trained and created the Laos fighters which later poured into Cambodia resulting in millions of civilian deaths by Pol Pot.

The American CIA appears to have completely created the attack on the Naval Spy ship misadventure which pushed America into Vietnam.

According to a well heeled Israeli Mosad agent, the American CIA gave the Iranian Ambassador a copy of a bogus Atomic Bomb plutonium trigger blue print, along with a former Russian Nuclear Bomb expert who immediately spotted the slight changes in the blue prints and offered to correct them for the Iranians.

Where is the outrage? Is there any Governmental Accountability by a Democratic held House, Senate and White House whereby the CIA, NSA and FBI are held strictly accountable for directly causing these spot fires around the world that flash back on Americans and innocent civilians.

This guy has to be kidding! He must be Jimmy Carter's relative! A politician is a politician no matter what party he/she is. It's all smoke and mirrors. Nothing will change with government or the world. It's all about the money! Please give me a break! Wake up and smell the java.
