Roman Polanski confessed to sexually assaulting a young girl in Los Angeles in 1977. He CONFESSED! He fled justice, and now fighting his extradition from Switzerland to possibly face the trial that's due him. Who could possibly align themselves with such a character? You know who: Hollywood actors, directors, and showbiz elite. Scorcese. Woody Allen. Weinstein. They all think Roman Polanski has been punished enough. Sanchez thinks not. Play the clip. My first question to this woman: "Have you no shame?" That surprised her!! Here's why this interview with Penelope Trunk is on my blog: she had a miscarriage this summer. Almost immediately, she shared her personal feelings of this experience with her Twitter followers. But she didn't share anything emotional about losing a baby...she shared her RELIEF at not having to travel far to get an abortion! Were people offended at that? Ohhhhh yes. But wait a second. Don't rush to judgement. Watch this clip and let Penelope Trunk explain herself. Then I want to hear from you. I want to hear your opinion.

Rick talks to New York Congressman Anthony Weiner in this clip. Issue: Why is the notion of a "public option" struggling to stay in the proposed health care bill? Is it coincidence that many in congress who oppose the public option are beneficiaries of the health care and insurance industries? And as long as we're discussing it, how much has Rep. Weiner received from Big Pharma? Rick asks him. Watch. Filed under: Clips From The Show September 28, 2009

It shocked and sickened us: Derrion Albert, just 16 years old, is beaten to death in a videotaped street fight in Chicago. Derrion was just 16. And an honor student. Today he's dead. If you've not seen the video or read the details of the story, go here to CNN.COM and get caught up. Watch this clip: it's Rick Sanchez speaking with a man who's not only a Chicago police officer, but the father of a young person who similarly lost his life to street violence. He's rightfully angry. And frustrated. And what happened to Derrion Albert broke his heart all over again. The question: How could this happen? How could young people behave with such brutality and violence? And is this generation of young people salvageable? Filed under: Clips From The Show September 25, 2009

Daniel Ellsberg knows a thing or two about disillusionment with a bogged-down war overseas. He's the man who released the so-called "Pentagon Papers" to the press in 1971, an event that some believe led to the eventual end of U.S. involvement in the conflict. He sees more than one parallel between Afghanistan and Vietnam. Here is Daniel Ellsberg's conversation with Rick Sanchez. Filed under: Clips From The Show Posted: 01:26 PM ET
Rick pulls off a really difficult feat here: ONE president is on the phone, another is live on camera. He's translating English to Spanish and back again, trying to best interpret both men's sentiments. And the subject is serious: This year's takeover of power in Honduras. Manuel Zelaya is holed up in the Brazilian embassy, unable to stick his head outside for fear of arrest. Roberto Micheletti is in effect running the country, but he wasn't elected. He assumed power by force! Rick talks to both leaders here and tries to answer the question, just who is in charge in Honduras? Filed under: Clips From The Show September 22, 2009

OK, now for something completely different. CNN obtained video of a horrific wild animal attack in rural Japan: a black bear pounced on a gathering of tourists at a bus stop and badly hurt nine people before...well, before it all ended for the bear. We HAD to talk to someone about it! Kyra Phillips sat in for Rick the day we asked Ron Magill from the Miami Metro Zoo to talk us through this awful (but fascinating) video. You'll see the video here, and we learned a thing or two about bears. So will you. Filed under: Clips From The Show September 18, 2009

FOX News: Fair and balanced? Not so sure about that. They took out a full page ad in the Washington Post asking "how did CNN miss this?"... referring to the huge tea party protest September 12 in Washington. CNN did not miss it. CNN covered it. And I've got the proof! I showed you on Friday's show and I'm showing it to you again here. Tell me what you think.
P.S. Oh yeah. CNN also covered the ACORN story. Filed under: Uncategorized Posted: 01:50 PM ET
Actor Stephen Baldwin is a self-described Sanchez Junkie and regular viewer of our daily national conversation. He contacted me at home and wanted to join me on CNN. Why? He wants you to know what happened to him. He wanted to tell you, through the resources of my newscast, how he fell from "Hollywood Hotshot" status, to bankruptcy. Oh, and what do his famous showbiz brothers think of his dire financial straits? Here's my entire interview with Stephen Baldwin.

She anchors HLN's morning news program, but she joins Rick to talk about something very personal: her long struggle with anxiety that almost ran her out of the television business.
