Every disabled American owes a debt of gratitude to the late great Sen. Kennedy, "Camelot" is truly over in America, he had his issues but I believe he truly cared about our great country more than anyone in the senate. He was involved in the "Health Care For Everyone" issue before anybody! Even when First Lady Hillary Clinton attempted to change the system, he was the first in line. America's middle class has lost a true advocate, a voice for all of us! I hope people focus on the good he did instead of the few poor judgements he made in the past. He was human, we all make mistakes in life but I will forever remember the "ADA" act that allows me and millions of disabled Americans to enjoy our life a little better!

Sen. Kennedy can see his two brothers in heaven and his nephew John Jr. Kennedy in heaven too. We mourn for the deaths of our loved ones, but remember this our loved ones will go the heaven and live with GOD. We are the children of the LORD.

MY MOTHER MET SENATOR KENNEDY!

In the 70's my Mother was an RN at the Minneapolis VA. She and some other Federal Nurses went on strike for better conditions, better pay, and more respect for women on a federal workplace. Senators Rhodes and kennedy came to the Twin Cities and held hearings to which my Mother testified. After a deal was struck the Senator sought my Mom out and told her she reminded him of his Mother Rose. My Mom said "Thanks Mr. Senator" he stopped her and said "No, not you YOU can call me Ted"! He said she was strong as nails and the right stuff to be a VA Nurse.

I wanted to thank you for the PSA on teenagers driving and texting. My daughter is about to get her license and I told her she had to watch this PSA. All driver ed teachers should show this psa to their students, not to scare them but to let them know that their actions behind the wheels have serioius consequences. Thank you again for saving many lives on the road.

I was sorry to hear of Senator Kennedy's death and admired him. I do have one question however? Why do we not hear about Joan Kennedy? She is the mother of his children and supported him through elections and Chapaqudidik. She has had addiction problems (asdid he and his sons) and I beleive has not been able to conquer hers but I do think she deserves some credit for what she did right.

Listening to the news a minute ago, the woman talking about Teddy's funeral explained about the 30 funerals being held per day due to the fact that our Veterans from WW1 and Korea were dying off. "Dying Off" sound more like a bad weed you are trying to get rid of in your yard, could we possibly show a little more respect to those that fought for our country in years gone by, maybe passing would have been a better term.

Sen. Ted Kennedy was unwavering in standing for what he believed in; although born in to wealth and privilege; he chose to be in public service and dedicated his life and energy to legislations that have bettered the lives of many, especially the poorer population of this country. So, in his death I think CNN in airing viewer comments should be more diligent in filtering out those that seem to rejoice in his death. When a person is willing to stand up for what he believes in, there will ultimately be dissenters (we all know there are those who hated him…) However, the day after he passed, it is inappropriate to air those comments that suggest: …we are better off, or, …that it is time…etc. It is not in the spirit of positive open dialogue; it is mean spirited and serves no purpose to the public.
The man is dead, what is the point of allowing who disagree with his politics to further trash his name!

The last of the three musketers is gone for the past 60 yrs. the Kennedys have influinced all of our lives making policy and standing up when called on to protect our nation from the cold war to the present a part of the government is gone and it can never be replaced but all of there foot prints will live forever.

Was Senator Kennedy's cancer caused by the use of a cell phone. I read that the type of cancer he had was the very type most related to cell phone use. Also, was the cancer on the side of his head which corresponded to the side he held his phone while in use. The lesson from this death may be that we should discourage the use of these devices. THAT WOULD BE THE BEST TRIBUTE TO THIS MAN !!

To all those who unfairly critisized Ted Kennedy while he was alive, and for those who still critisize him in death:

"It is not the critic who counts, not the one who points out how the strong man stumbled or how the doer of deeds might have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred with sweat and dust and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spends himself in a worthy cause; who,if he wins, knows the triumph of high achievement; and who, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat."

That epitomized Ted Kennedy. Can you same the same about yourself?

Teddy Kennedy is one of the last bastions of american personages of integrity. I stayed up all night following the news and crying when i heard of his death. He spent his entire political life being an advocate for the poor, marginalized, and those at the margins of American society. He will be an inspiration for generations to come.
Democrats (whether blue dog or not) i hope you guys sit up and pass the public option. if not, get ready to loose your majority position in congress. this madness has to stop. people are uninsured and dying from poverty and yet you rich few are busy rangling over trivial ideologies that do no good to better the human condition of fellow americans.

Uncle Teddy will be greatly missed. HIS fight for health care reform shall continue. The following may help:--
Just for grins instead of health care reform substitute "clean water"-– .Is.clean water a privilege or a right? Should every American have access to clean water? What will clean water cost and how much will be available to you? Can you drill for your own clean water? If it is not available to everyone should there be a public option for clean water? If you need clean water can it be denied to you because you use it too often? Can your rates suddenly change per gallon of clean water without your knowledge? .Do you have to wait until you are dehydrated to access clean water at low or no cost? Can your clean water be cut off because you have always been thirsty? Can clean water have toxins in it and still be called clean? If you test your supposedly clean water and find toxins can anyone be held responsible.? Or is it just too bad? Can clean water cost more than the average person can pay? If you like your well water can you keep it or do you have to sign up for municipal water? Do you have to pay for clean water that leaks from your suppliers pipes? Can your clean water supply be cut off even if you always pay your bill?

I was a young army sgt. working out of the Doc Hotel in Saigon when I was given the assignment to escort Ted Kennedy around Saigon. His activities with the B girls were far from honorable and had to visit the resident MDs the next day.

I worked on the Presidental Campaign for Senator Kennedy here in Michigan. I had the opportunity to meet him briefly. I have been concerned the last month at his absence and had read in the Boston Globe he was not doing well. My sincere condolences to his extended family. I have been so disappointed he was unwell now, when only he could have done the needed talking and compromises necessary for healthcare to be sucessful. This Nation will never see the like again !! I thank you for giving him his due.

Took to heart what a democracy should stand for...led a life of example and rightousness. Back in 1979 I became an intern on Capitol Hill. I got to work in his office for a day stuffing envelopes for constituents. My Senator and Senator Kennedy co-sponsored a bill even though they were from different parties.

When I went to his office I was in awe, observing the pictures of his brothers hung on the walls of his office. He had the most interesting mementos too and the staff was very nice and educated.

Another time we rode the undegroud train with him, although he was quiet and distant that day. He seemed pensive as if he was thinking of the up-coming presidential elections.

I am now 50 and too collect pictures of my family and mementos. I believe he had an impact on my life.

The greatest Senator of all times, Edward Kennedy, can never be replaced. Through the years he has, in some way, touched the lives of the needy, poor, sick, our soldiers, individuals that need someone to intervene and get a job done, regardless of where it was or what it was, he appeared and helped. Our Senate will miss him desparately, as he was the one person who could bring the parties together, like no one has ever done. He made himself available to help solve difficult situations and has spent his life trying to make this country a better place for everyone, not just the Rich and Famous. Each of us should be grateful for the deeds of Kennedy Family and
what they have done for our Country. He will be greatly missed.

I am greatly saddened by the loss of Sen. Ted Kennedy. The man who commented on African Americans not honoring his death is absolutely right. I am too young to know all that Ted has done. But according to the elders in my family, he has been a part of the Civil Rights movement and many others . We as AAs, should offer our condolences to the Kennedy family and honor the passing of Mr. Kennedy. He is truly a legend.

Ted Kennedy is the epitome of patience. When I was 10 years old, I went to see Titanic at the Uptown theater in DC. After over three hours, we both found ourselves in the men's room. Although I cut in front of him in line for the bathroom, Mr Kennedy did not say a word. A true gentleman. He will be missed.

Hi rick i'm a fifty year old African American woman. In response to the email concerning black americans not mourning Senator Ted Kennedy, i no that is un true. I remember well what the kennedys have done for black America and so do most African Americans. The kenndedys in most black house holds are revered as much as Martin Luther King Jr. We love the Kennedeys, the good life we live today is because of the hard work they have done for black Americans. I was up last night when the news broke..I am a Canadian living in Ontario and I have so many books on the Kennedys and this is a very sad time in history. For us Canadian the Kennedys were like the Royal Family of the US. They were real and alive and all very smart. They have been through a lot....I read the Curse of the Kennedys, but still they make their mark.Tthey are a true meaning of what a family is...they stick together and we shall never forget them. I hope for more books and movies about this amazing family. Real sad time. Newmarket Ontario

I live in MA my whole life. (I'm 20-years-old) On my way to the store I drove by the court house (I live in Attleboro) and the saw the flag at half-strafe and I smiled. I smiled because I knew that someone as kind and gentle-spirited as Ted Kennedy would be going to heaven. It is heart ranching to know that he will not see the cause of his life made into law, but he will be there in sprit. As far as his replacement is concerned he or she has big shoes to fill, however I fill that Joseph Kennedy II should be looked viable candidate because he too once represented Mass and should inherited his uncles seat just like he once inherited the seat from his brother. I am too young to remember why Joe did not run from re-election in 1999, but Joe Kennedy for senate! Thank you for you service Kennedy. Good night and God bless.

Rick, I was not familiar with your program until today. It is good thing to see a real journalist on cable. I grew up in the 60s and 70s, and as a child I was exposed to Cronkite, Huntley-Brinkley , Jerry Dunphy, Murrow etc. As I became an adult, I expected this type of non-partisan reporting of the news to continue. Sadly, with the advent of channels like FAUXNEWS and other media outlets of certain political parties, this was not to be. Keep up the good work, Mr. Sanchez, cable needs accurate and insightful reporting. And now, for the sad part. My heart goes out to the Senator's family. Our nation has lost
a great leader...truly, a lion of and for our great Democratic republic. He was a man who stood by and defended the rights of those, such as the elderly, the poor and the working class, Democrat, republican or whatever, who could not defend themselves or were underrepresented in the halls of government. Our country will sorley miss our LION. But this should also be a call to arms, for all Americans to continue his good work, and especially, to continue the fight against those forces of the extreme far-right ,around the world and here at home, who endeavor to seek the demise of America and its institutions. The best thing that Congress can do for the Kennedy legacy is to pass health care legislation. In lieu of flowers, that would be the best thing to honor his memory. Don't listen to these nut jobs who is not the "America" that Ted worked so hard to improve the lives to make things better.

I sold JFK bumper stickers door to door when I was 10. I supported RFK's run for the presidency in 1968 and worked to get Edward M. Kennedy nominated in1980. Ted Kennedy is one of the greatest American's to ever live and serve this nation. He will be remembered and associated with this nation's most influential leaders like Jefferson, Franklin, Lincoln and Roosevelt.

My sympathies goes out to the Kennedy Family today. In the loss of a great american Senator. Ted Kennedy. He will indeed be missed. I somehow felt a connection to the Kennedy's over the years. Unfortunately, JFK was assasinated on my birthday, Nov. 22nd.. I recall it every birthday since. My mom worked at the Kennedy library in Manhattan after his death, and met Robert Kennedy, and Mrs. Tuperman, who was Jackie's secretary who took care of Caroline and John John.. My mother was asked to get toys for the children.. She did. She remembers meeting many interesting and famous people at the library, among them was Ed Sullivan. When I was sixteen I visited the grave on JkF, it was one year after he died. it was very moving to see it. I look up to Caroline today for her braveness and unbareable times of tragedy.. My thoughts are with you.

Im sure you all would feel differently about the "lion" if it was someone you loved was killed that fateful night on chappaquiddick. Reminds me of people having praise for OJ . He was a disgrace.

I wanted to comment sooner. I was busy writing to Kyra. I hope you will receive a copy of that writing. I was listening to you during this time. Oh no! I could never get tired of hearing about Senator Kennedy or the other Kennedys. They were such prominent US citizens who excelled in their duties to their country and to its nationals. The entire world, specifically the east and west are familiar with them, their names. Those of us who appreciate people as the Kennedys want to hear as much as we possibly could about them.
I was shocked and sorry to hear of Senator Kennedy passing on. I thought he would have been with us for some months to come. God had better plans for him and took him out of his earthly suffering.
There is not much that I can say which has not already been said in favor of Senator Kennedy and in his memory. However, I will state:
Senator Kennedy was a patriotic American and politician who wanted what is best for all Americans and, no exception, for the entire world. He was an advocate of justice and peace which he labored tirelessly for during his career.
God said to him: "Come now My child. It is time to take your rest from your earthly labor. You have done well. You have persevered in the faith to the end."
All of us feel connected to the Kennedys. We have heard a lot about their good works. May we all, adults and youth alike, learn from the legacy which Senator Kennedy has left behind. What a godly legacy for us to adopt! Age is not a factor. All of us can do something to make our country, city, the world a better, happy and peaceful place to live. We will do this in memory of Senator Kennedy a, gracious and intelligent gentleman, who loved everyone with no exception. May we always be as devoted to our career and to our Nation as he was. There is no doubt in my mind that he did not do this for monetary gain, to get rich or for status. He already had possessed them since childhood. He was devoted mainly because he cared for specifically his country, its people and the underprivileged.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all members of his family. Also to the American people, all of whom are mourning his loss.
Eternal rest grant unto Ted Kennedy, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
May the soul of Ted Kennedy and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Though there has been wonderful tribute and information in the coverage of the death of Senator Kennedy, one event that I found immensely touching and will never forget has not been mentioned.

When JFK Jr. was killed, most don't remember that "Uncle Teddy" was the person, the patriarch, who ultimately had to identify John Jr. The news footage stays with me today and I found it remarkable that this man who had been through so much, and was the tower of strength during the passing of his siblings, continued to be a rock as tragedy struck another generation. He was truly a remarkable man, brother, uncle and Senator.

Thank you for such comprehensive coverage. It is deserved.

As a black man who grew up during the Civil Rights Movement, I am thrilled the Kennedys saw to it to assist the less fortunate. They could have been like so many other wealthy people and not be concerned.
There was someon who wrote to you and talked about the possible job losses because of Kennedy champion the minimum wage. Why is it that the wealthy can have their money grow exponentially, and the rest of us should be left behind. Someone has to consume the stuff made.

How can I express I feel upon Sen Kennedy? Sadness of end of era that began with his older brother, Jack. I am of Irish descent and raised Roman Catholic, too. Day his brother became lst Catholic President, was day my parents (both Irish-American & Catholic) rejoiced. The day Jack was killed, was saddiest day of my 10 years on this earth as well as my parents. I felt it was end of dream, then Bobby was running, upon his death, more sadness. This family has endured very many things, some brought on by their actions and some not. May God Bless their family and may Ted rest in peace.

We lost a big part of our history with the death of Sen Edward Kenney he was a great person and leader that will be missed greatly and I am glad to see all those old videos of the Kennedy's. Thanks for showing Senator Kennedy's speeches....but the one I love the most is his eulogy of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in 1994. His strong, clear, elegant, aristocratic voice tells in deep public initimacy of his feelings about his sister-in-law, who now it we almost forget. Please play parts of his eulogy of "Jackie" and people can see how Mr. Kennedy's educated, elegant, illumiated voice is stilled now just when we need it most!

I was born in 1946 at the end of a World War which nearly destroyed the world. I grew up working grass roots politics with my father and understood the importance of politics in our culture. The Kennedy's represented the first politicians who cared about the poor and disadvantaged. They are, for my generation, our heroes. Teddy carried his brother's ideals into our present generation. I hope they realize how important the work of these brothers is to how we live today; however, they will never understand what it felt like to see Jack and Bobby killed and how Teddy carried on. In some ways, Teddy's death represents the end of an activist's era which produced great work and spoke for those without a voice. Thank you.

I find it amusing that Republican after Republican goes on the air to change the reason they can't back health care is because of Teddy's death and leadership when Democrats have been bending over backwards to get support to no avail. Dems even have equal Republicans negotiating in the "gang of six" when they didn't need to. It's just a convenient excuse for saying NO!!! once again-they're not fooling anyone who's not witless. Sad to say but Republicans pretend to care about the common good but it's only the Democrats over the years who have helped the common good. Even their sainted Reagan said Medicare would be the socialization of America and the end of democracy. What an offense to hear them with their latest excuse for saying no.

I had the privilege of learning the art and soul of achieving social justice through politics working directly with Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Teddy Kennedy as a Public Policy Fellow with the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation. Thanks to CNN's archived footage shown during the past two days, I re-heard a statement Teddy made many years ago. He said: "I am, by nature, by disposition, and by desire, an activist." This is the core of my own life's work. My outrage at injustice is rooted in the work and words of Jack, Bobby, Teddy and Eunice. My most treasured memories however are of the personal stories, asides, jokes, nicknames and banter that remind me of my own childhood –what large Irish Catholic families do!

On the night of July 18, 1969, Kennedy was on Martha’s Vineyard’s Chappaquiddick Island at a party for the “Boile Room Girls”, a group of young women who had worked on his brother Robert’s presidential campaign the year before. Leaving the party, Kennedy was driving a 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 with one of the women, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne, as his passenger, when Kennedy drove off **** Bridge into the Poucha Pond inlet. Kennedy escaped the overturned vehicle, swam to safety and left the scene. He did not call authorities until after Kopechne’s body was discovered the following day.

I am very sorry about Senator Kennedy¨s death. I remember when in 1966, when the river Arno flooded in Florence, Italy, Teddy was part of the group of young people and students from all over the world who helped to rescue the art treasures from the mud and we were called "angeli del fango". I remember him full of mud all over and working hard in this rescue. Teddy was always a wonderful human being. The world will miss him.

One woman said that we "shouldn't rehash" Chappaquiddick but there is no statute of limitation on mujrder. If they didn't have the liberal media covering their tracks they would have been lost. Instead of Camelot the Kennedy story reads more like the Sopranos or maybe even the Godfather.

As a paramedic, treating people who would go for days, weeks, months w/o treating their illnesses turned into life threatening emergencies...it's absolutely inhumane! Our health care should not come after working, taking care of the kids, paying the bills, doing the laundry, grocery shopping, etc, etc, etc...YOU'RE GOOD TO NO ONE DEAD!!! Rick, what about the tax status for the church(es) that allow their pastors to talk politics from the pulpit let alone threaten the presidend? commenting on pastor's comments/secret service etc.: That kind of rhetoric should be watched carefully and investigated by the CIA, FBI and Secret Service. This is exactly the kind of rhetoric that can incite people to do horrible things like actually attempt to kill the President. That pastor needs to be more responsible in terms of using his pulpit to espouse hatred and bigotry and violence. It is the job of the Secret Service to keep our President safe against all enemies, foreign AND domestic....and yes, that means no one with a firearm gets anywhere near him!!

Ever since President Obama launched his campaign I have been aware of the concern about possible attacks against him, especially in the black community.

Lately, I understand that white people are becoming more verbal in their hatred and prejudice. This concerns me greatly because the white folks who do not agree with them and who are horrified by what they are saying do not confront them and let their remarks go unchallenged at the time they are made.

This has got to stop somehow and for a minister to say that he hopes Obama dies and goes to hell is totally unacceptable and people need to say so loud and clear.

I read an article from the editorial page of a Macon Georgia newspaper on this very topic yesterday, and here today is the news about the minister's comments on the eve of Obama's eulogy to Senator Kennedy.

From one Pastor to another... on the issue of not praying for Obama, please don't lump all of us who are trying to follow Jesus' teachings in with this Baptist Pastor. He is not preaching and teaching the principles found in the Bible, and He should not be in charge of leading others to follow Jesus. I voted for Obama, but I do not agree with all his decisions. I am still called to pray for him and love him and support him the best way I know how.

I attended the President's rally in Florida when he was campaigning. There were thousands of people there and we ALL had to go through a metal detector to get in.
Did the Arizona town hall meeting have the same screening devices? I believe our President should be protected at all costs. Regardless of the gun laws, concealed or unconcealed, the American people each have right to keep our President safe.
I think Barack Obama is one of the most courageous of public servants. He and his family knew full well of the dark side of this society before he ran for President. He and Michelle chose to go forward in spite of it. I think severely inflammatory remarks or gestures regarding our President should be dealt with quickly and lawfully.

Freedom of speech should not allow such disrespect of one's life, especially the commander of our own country. Having a difference of opinion is one thing, making threats and encouraging others to act on hatred needs to be eradicated!!

Rick, Ca. law makes it legal for law enforcement to search a parolee's residence without a warrant or probable cause. this is why the Sheriff's dept. feels they really screwed up. The deputy that came out should have called for back-up and did a search of the backyard. Sex offender law 101.

Dear Rick . This preacher is in the wrong when he says that he hates someone. It it against Gods word. He is not fit to be behind the pulpit saying things against the leader of this country. The Bible says that we are to pray for our enemies and to even help them. I too am against abortion but would not go that far. We are commanded as Christians to pray for our leaders and Steve is wrong in what he is doing. I too am a Baptist preacher but I am ashamed that a fellow baptist preacher would act that way. No man of God should incite violence and hatred. Jesus would not have done that.

I am very upset about the "so-called" pastor of the church and what he preached from the pulpit. He is a sick individual using GOD for such hatred. There is not room in this country any longer for hatred groups. I lived in the 60's and remember how things were. I tought we were beyond an era of such inhumane statements coming from anyone. I believe he made a threat to the president when preaching hatred to people in his church. As for the guy with the automatic weapon hanging on his shoulder he should have been arrested. The very foundation of TRUE CHRISTIANITY is LOVE. Anyone preaching the opposite is a fraud. The founder of Christianity and Great Teacher Jesus taught his TRUE FOLLOWERS to pray for their enemies and to leave vengeance to God and by example, when he was reviled he did NOT do the same back. There is NO ROOM FOR FATWAH ( like Sulman Rushdie had) in Christianity. Christ also said that there would be counterfeit Christians and warned that "by their fruits" they would be recognized. All sex offenders should be put to death or at the very least imprisoned for life. My daughter's husband started raping and sexually abusing both her daughters when each was 13. He was given 5 years probation and a $2000.00 fine. Before his probation was up he strangled my daughter to death. He is still awaiting trial. In this country there is no justice for victims, just the perpetrator.

Hi Rick, I'm glad that you are reporting on all the threats against Pres.Obama. I beg the question ,why has cnn and other networks not have reported on this the same way they blasted about Rev.Wright.
A pastor preaching violence and death to our president is not walking a fine line. These town hall people carrying guns and this pastor threatening the president and his wife and daughters is a criminal act.

Viewing this recent news of the man who took over the school bus and also about the nude woman, I have to shake my head and laugh and say "what idle people".
You may wonder why someone who resides in Canada constantly views CNN. CNN broadcasts international and US local news and as it happens. From time to time, CNN may broadcast some significant Canadian news.
CNN news broadcasts is also exciting. There is never a dull moment. This is why I am hooked on – addicted to CNN. I proudly tell everyone: "I saw and heard it on CNN!" Where else is the news broadcasted in such a manner so as to captivate CNN's viewers? CNN does a good job of that.
Furthermore, viewers as I should learn much from those intelligent broadcasts which include political ones. Keep up the good work! CNN will progress and succeed.

I have studied US history and as a black minority and immigrant I have clearly seen that the Kennedy brothers in general and Sen Ted Kennedy specifically have always tried to champion the causes of minorities. His dedication to bucking the trends of the status quo, most times in the face of srong opposition does not go unnoticed. I miss the man greatly and I am saddened that i was unable to make the trek to Massachusetts. Thanks in no small part to his inclusive rhetoric we now have our first black president. Proof that he was right all along, that we all have the same concerns and love for this country and only seek equality and a fair chance. May he rest in peace.

Hey Rich, it bothers me to know that our president is being threatening and the News Media just treat it like a just another story. The News media needs to really get on top of this and make it a priority of tracking these stories and reporting these issues to the public.
I remember a time the News was a means of gathering data, reporting that information so that we the public are kept informed. Unlike the event of 9/11 where there were many instants where the news media failed to investigate thereby contributing to the results and what happened, not helping to prevent it..
Rich, you at least have started gathering the information but, more is needed by all of your colleagues including Wolf. or will you wait until an event happen to our president before you do more. I know, such an event would indeed get more favorable rating. We really do not need this type of reporting Rich!

I can't believe you would give anyone (Baptist preacher) [ air space who professes to be a Christian and prays for the death ofthe President, A Christian should know that it is not their right to judge others. The Pastor has a right to his opinion, but to make a comment like he made from the pulpit is morally wrong, he should be excommunicated from the church. He could pray that President Obama became more enlightened on the subject of abortion, but to make a statement like he made is not Christian and the pastor and Church, if they don't come out against this kind of preaching, should be held responsible if anything happens as a result of this comment. You shouldn't give him air space as this whole thing is irresponsible!!

Seeing a black man carrying an AK 47 on President Obama's meeting was not only disgusting but very stupid. Even if his message was right , what kind of perception or message was the public getting from that fellow black man. We need to be the best examples to others instead of working against each other. The kidnapping and ordeal of Jaycee Dugan is horrible. Even sadder is that law enforcement had been to registered sex offfender Phillip Garrido's place several times and did not go in his home! Had he been a Black college professor he would have had every cop from here to Massachusetts in his house trying to arrest him. I saw the story by Dana Bash on Senator Kennedy as a man of faith.

I don't think so. It has been said many times, this was a flawed individual who was directly responsible for the death of a young woman. My goodness, he was a liberal not a saint. Though most liberals like yourself have come to believe that you are all saintly.

Funeral services are the exception for saying kind words that may stretch the truth a bit – no harm is done and the family is appreciative.

HMO vs. Government Health Care

People who are recipients of big business money or influence or want to downgrade the Democratic Party power are dedicated to choosing HMO control of health care over a government controlled health care system, so this message is not for them.

The maximizing of profits by HMOs over the past ten years has resulted in an unsustainable health care system that is way over-priced, denies coverage to poor risk patients, may be tied to a person's job and is not affordable or attainable for many working class citizens. Tonight as I watched the Memorial for Senator Kennedy, I think it gave million"s of people watching a very warm and real aspect of his life and dedication. I am so glad that Vicky and his family had the service done this way. So down to earth and funny and all the story telling that he would have loved. I think he probably would have challenged some of the stories. It wasn't really roast type thing but a pure and loving tribute to him from people all over his life span and career.
Tonight another space shuttle took off from The Kennedy Space Center. I know that the lift off had been changed a couple times, but tonight, it went off beautifully.What a thing at this time.

That's it Gilda, defend your comments by pulling in the Bushes and Dick Cheney.

To say that "nobody is perfect" is to trivialize the death of a 28 year old woman. Please, Ted Kennedy ran from the accident and lied about the events. He conferred with his attorneys and aides before issuing a statement in which he failed to tell the truth.

Ted Kennedy was concerned about his political career rather than the life of a 28 year old woman. Nobody believed his story of repeated attempts of diving into the water to try and rescue her; best estimate is that she lived about two hours after the event.

So he put on a suit and tie for the next forty years and introduced bills into legislation – he left a person to die and apparently that means little to folks who place ideology above character & values.

He was a great husband (to his second wife), father, uncle when it was easy to be those things. Forty years ago we saw what was beneath the facade.

As a Cuban-American, my family raised me to hate, and blame the Kennedys for Castro and Cuba. However, as I became an adult and read history for myself I realized that my parents generation did not want to take responsibility for the mess of Cuba and the injustices in Cuba that brought about the revolution. I for one, admired Sen. Kennedy, he lived the Catholic Social Justice teachings and values, he worked for the poor, the children, the disabled, for minorities and the elderly. He championed justice, freedom and equality for ......... ALL.

There are many on the far-right, who continue to bitch and moan against Sen. Kennedy to them I say....... Sen. Kennedy would be the first one to admit he was a sinner. Jesus died for us........ ALL.

Pres. obama is going in the right direction if your people give him time and use a little patience. they never voiced this much opinion when pres.bush ran the country into deficit and ruin. may ted kennedy rest in eternal peace and please give this family a break.

I believe in First Amendment rights for all, but Pastor Steven Anderson should be shown the door! His incendiary comments are dispicable! He should be in line right there with Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Faux News and a few others! There certainly is no shortage of extremists in this country!

What's different between this pastor and Rev. Jeramiah Wright? One's white and the other is black? At least, Jeramiah Wright did not threaten George Buch or pray God's power for him to die; instead, he informed us of what we already know, which no one has ever proven the information to be a lie!!!!!

THIS PASTOR INFERS RACISIM - "Die and go to hell". Those scriptures he refers to are applicable to Esau only - read, Obadia and Romans, Chapter 9, verse 11. Further, read Micha, Chapter 4. Esau is the only nation left out!!!!!! This pastor should read for himself before requesting such a prayer!!!! For the prayer he prays may come upon his own head. Be "ye" careful of what you pray - "the tougue is a double-edged sword."

Well, the record is fairly clear that the UK released a man convicted of killing 270 people, most of them Americans, in order to secure British Petrol. drilling rights in Libya!

When it comes to fighting terrorism, we are pretty much on our own.

Mush as I disliked George W. Bush, he would have recalled our ambassadors to England & Scotland at this point.

We were sold out for oil. The more things change the more they stay the same – true last year and once again this year. Our president has no spine!

In a way I don't blame the guy for getting upset enought to do something. Kids who's perents don't care what there kids do in public have ruined the world for the rest of us. I'm 65 my kids behaved in public. Now I can't go to a movie, eat out, or do anything else without some spoiled brat throwing a fit about something in the seat, or booth next to you.

i am sorry, but the mere mentioning of rick perry (gov of tx) makes me just want to hurl... he squirmed his way into the gov. office when bush became office and for some reason is still there.... i have wrote in on a ballot NOT PERRY... and now you can tell he is trying to get more publicity (either for the next gov term or maybe even pres.) yuk.. i sure hope kay wins.

Is this "pastor" reading his bible or just receiving money off people in that building-church? Has he read lately of Jesus' injunction to His Apostles "By your love the world will know that you're my disciples'?
How about him reading 1John 4:7-9. The gist of these verses is that "Any christian who hates his brother does not know God."

A reasonable estimation of Senator Kennedy's youth is that he was spoiled (his exploits as Harvard and the University of Virginia; getting his father to have his four-year enlistment in the military reduced to two years plus a soft posting) and immature (his drinking, womanizing, and worst of all his unconscionable behavior in the Mary Jo Kopechne affair).

When he grew up, he achieved an admirable record as a US Senator (though he has been given more credit for some legislation than I believe he deserves), earning the respect of the vast majority of his Democratic colleagues and many of the Republican senators. He was certainly beloved my many throughout the US because of the causes he championed: civil rights, health care, among others and the vigor with which he pursued those causes.

In about 25 years historians can look more fairly at his accomplishments and shortcomings than they can now. They, like we, are too much under the spell of Senator Kennedy, the man, his enduring a brain cancer, and untimely death - just when his leadership is sorely needed in addressing health care reform.

I appreciate CNN's coverage of the aftermath of his death, which all available evidence indicates he faced with equanimity and courage, even advocating his swift replacement in the Senate (the problem caused by having to hold an election would not have arisen had the Democrats not changed the law earlier on to keep a Republican governor from making such an appointment).

I found the coverage excessive and when watching television, often tuned to other channels. Still I was glad to see moments like Mr Obama's eulogy and the movement of the cortege toward Arlington Cemetery.

How extensive coverage of an exceptional politican's death and funeral there should be is, of course, a judgment call. I expect CNN fulfilled what it considers its mission and probably satisfied the overwhelming majority of its viewers.

I thought you guys left nothing out about Teddy, covered it all, and probably didn't overexaggerate anything. But, I was really suprised to learn he was the first man to land on the moon, founded Boston, put an end to poverty throughout America, was being considered to be Pope, walked on water, that his nephew was willing to pass Teddy's sail boat while it was sinking just to say he beat him one time – guess Teddy walked on water to safety that day, completely restored New York City plumbing leaks (you can see them all over the place when you fly into the city and then drive downtown), his family actulally invited more blacks and blue collar workers than whites to the "by invitation only memorials" but only one of them showed up besides the Obama's. I could go on, but I can't tell you anything you don't know, afterall you were the ones doing the reports!

The coverage was excellent, Rick. I stayed glued throughout.

When CNN has legitimate news to report, there’s none better. But when an occasional show host gets controversy oriented – hyping it when it exists and trying to create it when it doesn’t, like it is on your show, Rick, it’s not worth watching. Add to that, that you seldom seem to allow a guest to give a complete answer, and I don’t know why you’re on the air.

I hate to say this, Rick – Hey, at least I’m honest – but shows like yours have the dubious distinction of making Fox News look good. But if you’ll please pass it up the rest of the chain, thanks for CNN’s excellent coverage of the senator’s funeral. He’s already very, very much missed!

I love how Rick admitted to voting for George Bush on T.V. If a man thinks enough of his candidate to vote for him then he should think enough of him to declare it publicly. Rick is always a class act.

I thought your coverage of Teddy's death was great. It was certainly a welcome change over negative coverage that we have been watching lately. Something positive about someone's life in political office is rare these days. I'm glad you covered the life and funeral of such a great American. Thanks!

I thought his wake was awesome. So awesome I ordered a copy of it from Cspan. It came close to being art. It was so gracious of the Kennedy family to allow us into what could have been a terribly private moment. They allowed us to see Ted Kennedy as a man, fully rounded, not just a politician.

Sorry, this isn't news. These riots are being staged and executed by people who have never heard of Nixon or Pinochet or Allende. They're rioting like the people in N.O go to Marti Gras. It's a way to let off steam and go wild.
Note: no one was hurt during the rioting.
Report real news please, not national enquirer drivel.

I'd like to compliment CNN for GREAT coverage of the passing of Senator Edward Kennedy. He did so much to fight for the regular man or women as he was elected to do! He will be missed so much.
He tried also to atone for his own mistakes. I'm sure it wasn't easy staying in the Senate fighting for the rights of average Americans – when he could have shunned the spotlight and selfishly hid to nurse his own wounds – missing his brothers, etc.
Anyway good job, CNN. I wish he were still here to help us get Universal Healthcare Reform!!!!!

Lets see a wacky pastor VS The president of the United States putting a non repentant Marxist in a govt position?

Why are CNN's priorities?

There is simply NO excuse for the president of the United States of America putting a man who was a non repentant MARXIST and ANARCHIST in a govt position.

CNN or anyone has no standing or creditability AT ALL in criticizing ANYONE for calling the president a socialist.

What the president of the United States did is FAR FAR worse.

No sir there is no excuse for that NONE.

Even liberals posting on the San Fransisco Examiner web page think president Obama went to far.

My God there is NO excuse for that.

His actions are a slap in the face to the memory of JFK. Or was he a right wing wacko too for giving his speeches against the tyranny of Communist govt regimes (Cuba, USSR, N. Vietnam) and being anti communist. How far has the Democrat party have fallen?

What an embarrassment that security would allow a government official to call the president a liar. He should have been kicked out for misconduct of a government official. I am told he was a representative from one of the red states. This never happened to other presidents, who may have deserved it – still no president deserves this disrespect. Dear Rick,
Thank you for giving us this opportunity to speak about the late Senator Edward Kennedy. He was elected to the Senate when I was just a teenager. His older brother had inspired me with his inaugural speech when I was in sixth grade, and tragically died when I was a freshman in high school. His brother, Bobby was murdered the summer after my freshman year in college. But Teddy, as we all called him was always there, in times of happiness and times and tragedy, holding us all together just as he did his family. I hope he and his family felt us all there for him, praying for them in his time of tragedy.

He has meant so much to us, fighting for us over the years, and we will never forget him. His quiet strength and compassion did not go unnoticed by those of us he helped by his legislation. I miss him greatly, particularly at this time when the cause of his life is about to become a reality, but I know he is still up there fighting for us with Jesus at his side now, and they ,together may see his dream come through yet.

He has left behind a fine family. Two wonderful women who loved him deeply, and of course, his wonderful children. I heard Teddy Jr speaking the other night, and he sounded so mun like his dad, both in tone and content, that I teared up for a moment, missing him.

I hope that some of these comments can be forwarded to his family with our sincerest condolences.

We will miss him always,
