Look! A Sanchez wanna-be! The guys at Plan C Comedy are so taken by CNN's interactive afternoon newscast, that they're channeling Rick Sanchez.

We gotta admit. It's not bad. The voice is close. The delivery? Perfect. But dude, the hair needs a LOT of work.

Think you can do better? Show us! We'd love to see your best Rick Sanchezesque newscast. Shoot it, send it, and we'll throw it up here on the blog. (And go easy on the guy, huh? He's sensitive.)

But he's crying on the inside.
But he's crying on the inside.

Mary MacElveen   June 18th, 2009 11:58 am ET

Hey, Rick...Not a bad spoof there and it had me laughing. You know you have made it big time when someone I do not even know imitates you.

By the way, how you bring in what all of us are thinking via Twitter, Facebook and MySpace, you are allowing your viewing audience to see what is being thought and said out there. I liken it to the Cafferty Files where Jack Cafferty throws out a question during "The Situation Room" where Americans are being heard.

You just keep being you, Rick and I love your broadcasts.

Best...Mary your Twitter buddy.

atslash   June 18th, 2009 12:00 pm ET

ahahah loved that sketch. Good lighthearted crack at Rick. :) Hmmm spin off show? Rick Sanchez – World Comedy, where "YOU" make the show.

That would be a sweet spin on some of these lame reality shows that are out now.

HectorF   June 18th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Personally I think this is an amazing impersonation of Rick. He has the voice and all of the lines are perfect. I actually know the guy who did this and he is pretty damn talented. Keep up the good work PLAN-C!!!

Lindsey T.   June 18th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

That impression was dead on! Where did you find that kid, Rick? Is he gonna do anymore?

Rob   June 18th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Hey Rick was wandering if you had read that story CNN had on earlier today, you know the story about 3 Illegal Aliens in New York who got hurt on a construction site and was awarded almost 4 million between the 3 of them???? Well I want to know what part of illegal does the American people not understand? Lets break it down for you, they(illegals) were in this country illegally, they(illegals)were working in this country illegally, they(illegals) got hurt on the job illegally! Now what I want to know where was ICE or Immigration???? Why didnt they(illegals) get deported? Why didnt the construction company be shut down never to work in this country again(because they(construction owners)? Why didnt the courts fine the construction company and the ones responsible for giving a contract to a company hiring illegals(because its against American law to hire illegals)? Please Rick show your viewers that you are fair and objective and have the will to cover such a story! Let us not forget that the state of New York has high unemployment and I know some people out of work could really use those jobs!

doctor mario   June 18th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Very funny and pretty well written. Still, this guy looks more like a young Howard Cosell, than Rick. Sorry. Just sayin'.

hilda nipp   June 18th, 2009 1:57 pm ET

We have to created a "Food Culture" on our children . It's very important that Early Childhood Programs across the nation pay more attention how our young generation balance their food habits and well distribution of proteins and vitamins on breakfast and meals. Good "story times for children", parents and children activities related with this topic, and "interactive circle times"( a combination of open -ended activities bringing real food to the classroom) in UPK Programs will contribute to develop a better understanding about food and diets in the US.

Anita McCants   June 18th, 2009 2:14 pm ET

Rick,
That guy was hyped!
That was indeed an exaggerated
version of you. Now if he could
just calm down a little, fix the hair,
and raise his head a tad bit, he
would have you. :~)

I'm a Republican and tired, tired, tired of the old guard standing and pontificating about we should in the name of American tradition interfere and criticize other countries. BS John Mc. We need a change and he is in the White House. Support the President for he finally broke with the old guard that should quietly go into the night.

Lee   June 18th, 2009 3:53 pm ET

Pres Obama is handling this just right. I lived in Central Asia for three years. People there speak in subtilties. Believe me, they are hearing his support loud and clear. What we would consider a strong statement in the US will come across as schoolyard bullying over there.

Jack Chestnut   June 18th, 2009 3:54 pm ET

I need to ask you one question. Who does Obama think he is dealing with on Iran? This is a regime that thinks it is alright to lie to their enemies when they are negotiating. It will be the same deal as North Korea. Now we are actually having to deal with that small country.
We need to encourage the young people of Iran as much as we can outwardly, and as much as we can covertly. I just do not understand Obama's thinking.

brandon nagley   June 18th, 2009 3:58 pm ET

people will back obama and i predict as a christian seeing all going on in the world predicted thousands of years ago i belive and predict obama will run and win realection as pres..... also a one world order as predicted biblically is coming soon.. look it up friends henry kissinger sais obama must create new world order or committ to chaos as many others are backing it.. the chinese wants a one world currency..the worlds in deep tension as needs someone with an answer.. who do they all look to Obama... Obama... We want change they say,, Well people change is here.. i pray you may all find salvation in christ if you havent yet... and may god be with you all.. these are the signs of the times.. the media cant stop god from being in this country but they can stop politics from their wicked views.. god bless rick

read on andsay only truth

Dear Rick: Comenting on President Obama intentions not to interfere with the result of Iran's Elections I think Obama acted right in his speech. On the other side I m annoy by MacCain coments because him as a soldier should knew better that any abrassive comments (the one Bush used to made) and threatens with Sanction (that never works) can be useful unless yo backed up with heavy military action.
O f course things can become messy that is what happened on Iraq.
United Sates at this moment is not in conidition to get involved on International Controversial affairs

libby   June 18th, 2009 6:14 pm ET

Jack, you sound like you've listened to a little too much wingnut media.

If you've followed the viewpoints by mideastern terrorism anaylists on BOTH sides of the aisle, you know that they feel that President Obama is handling the election turmoil in Iran -perfectly-.

Can you even imagine if McC was in office with his naive viewpoints on the situation!?!?!?

Rick, that guy really did have your voice down pat! But (and sorry to the guy who did the video).. he just doesn't have your looks! ;0)

VirginiaDare   June 18th, 2009 8:00 pm ET

Hey Rick, how is this for an idea....Remember the twittle twittle bugs from early sesame street(70's?)..they should be the face of twitter! I mean think about it ....It's from our generation and elementary years and when we were little we did not really know what a twittle bug was. Now, it all makes sense! They deserve to be the mascots of twitter....and we now know the name of a person who twitters a lot. A twittle bug! Boy that sesame street was preparing us for the future right before our little eyes! Take that Mr. Shatner!

Hey Rick, President Obama should not be saying anything that would incite Iran's Supreme Leader to say that we are interfering in their country. On the contrary, where is the widow of the Shaw of Iran and the Late Shaw's son, who are apparently living in splendor in Paris, France. They should be the one's talking, thanks, Jay

soheila   June 19th, 2009 3:27 pm ET

hi rick
i'm listening to the news about iran.thanks to cnn and its different talk shows that keep talking about the recent rallyies happing there.i belive the election is just an excuse for recent events and i like to emphsize to this point that khameney is the leader now and god knows how long he will be,but his statement(s) is not gold for any one.
Ofcourse his thrates and militery force might make his statements gold and rules for iranians.

Obamas new conference for dad is tooooooooo boring. Where's his teleprompters to help him out!!!.

Sandra-Salt Lake City   June 19th, 2009 3:59 pm ET

Hi Rick, I have to say you are my favorite. Perhpaps because you read your commnets.

On 140 word...I just wonder how many people who walk up to register to pay for their food, or a sales clerk trys to help than and they are glued to their phone or twiiter. How many hours of what should be work are wasted Twittling, Facebook, etc while on taxpayer time or employer time.

A poll would be very, very interesting that asks these questions of those who use these ipod, cell phones, computers...etc. How can the misuse of social media be contributed to car deaths, etc.

People skills, one-on-one with our children or friends . Engaging in groups without these devices. I don't know if that's possible but it scares expecially out in the work place, where (rumbbf) . LOL...
I have worked with kids in management position's and they cannot spell, make sense ol a sentence, (workds are all over the place) I am affraid of what might happen with these childrend as they enter college and the workforce. Good grammar says such much about that child.

gwatkins   June 19th, 2009 4:10 pm ET

Hi Rick, I enjoy the comments and some opinions that most of the viewers voice, I do think some are more opininated on President Obama.I think he is a very brilliant young man, and for him to have taken a "mess" of the Bush administration, I must say he's remarkable. Iwish everyone would give him a chance, and Bush,Cheney and the GOP would go away, after eight years of nothing, and don't forget Mcclain. This Mr. President is a well rounded man , husband, father and leader, always on the move, always in the view, always generous to us all. This man has'nt missed a beat regardless what's been said,he's still on the beat. I'm quiet sure he'll do more in four year, than the past adm. did in eight yrs..

Mike Muth   June 20th, 2009 7:53 am ET

Hey Rick!!!!!! I live in Raleigh NC now. Hate it here!! But seeing and listening to you brings me back to the place I love and lived in for 20 years. Ft Lauderdale!!!!! I remember all of you at WSVN and wish I was still there. At least I get to listen to you and sometimes Shepard Smith and remember the days of Andrew, the Train wreck, and all the "Breaking News" stories. Glad to see you have been so succesful all these years. Do you miss South Florida much?? Watching you makes me feel like home again!! Thanks!

Orville   June 20th, 2009 8:46 pm ET

In regards to recent developments in Iran, it's interesting how the world's media is ignoring the other major protest against a repressive government. The opposition in Georgia has been protesting against President Mikhail Saakashvili for months. These protests have been met with violence from the police. Clashes are escalating. On several occasions, police have used force against protesters and journalists. A number of people (including opposition politicians and journalists) have been hospitalized as a result.
True, there have not been any deaths in Georgia, to my knowledge. However, unlike in Iran, these attacks on protesters have been known to the US Government, yet the US Government and its representatives (Including VP Biden, Senator McCain, and Assistant Secretary of State Phillip Gordon) continue to encourage Georgia.

What's making me angry: My son recently divorced from his wife. She and the ex went through custody games with there children that they have together. My son would not let the ex have the children during her visitation. She got angry, filed false charges of rape against him with no bond. The police initially placed the wrong charges on him. The police were allowed to correct their error then place more charges. The DA's Office has allowed all these actions to occur. The police detective (Irwin), took it personal that my son would not confess to something that he did not do. The Ex now has the children and has fled to another state. His face has been plastered all over the local news. His life has been ruined because of a woman scorned. My heart is heavy with grief, his family will suffer mentally and financially. How is it possible that this can happen based upon false allegations. What is going on in the backwards Sheriff's Office in Lake Charles, Louisiana?

DANI   June 21st, 2009 1:34 pm ET

I became fasinated with foreign policy and poilitics after the death of Benazir Bhutto. I"ve sent comments for CNN ,MSNBC, & FOX NEWS but I never got a reply, or seen it posted. I know they didn't like what i was saying and asking. So im coming to you because I watch your style of journalism and I know your not bias. Im deeply disturbed but more confused on the turmoil that's going on in Iran. Im Libra so bare with me because I view everything from both sides.
My question in a nutshell is why are they doing this????? Weren't these the same people who did the same thing 30 years ago because they wanted to be dictated by the extremist Khatami? If that is the case it's too late for them in my opinion. Things will NEVER change. That country is full of extremist who hate America and the British. Here's where the Libra in me comes into play. i understand 100% why they fell that way. Iran and Iraq have every right to hate the west. America is power and money hungry and have been raping other countries and continents for centuries. They tried it in Vietnam, and when that failed they did it to the Iranian people. They raped the middleeast for oil.....EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. There was never any weapons of mass distruction in Iraq. Saddam told them that. And we went over there anyway for control over their oil. You see Kim Jong is bragging to us....Yeah I got them, and I'll use them but we not going over there. Also I hope Obama is not dumb enough to get suched into this drama. Iran is alreay rebuking the US and Britain for medding. The GOP wants the arab nation to have a reason to get mad and attack us again. Sorry Repbulicans. Sit down, and accept the fact the your president is black. What i was "THOUGHT" in school is that the middle east dislikes the west because of religion. Thats so far from the truth. But there's sooooooooooo many people out here who are thirsty and hungry for the truth.
GO TO YOUTUBE AND TYPE IN THE CIA'S SECRET WAR AND THE IRANIAN REVOLUTION. YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THEIR STRUGGLE.
Remember Malcom X made the famous quote about Kenndy. The chickens have come home to roost? Well that is exactly what's happening to American right now. Do you really think America is faling to it's knees just because the Bush administration were corrupt? (NOT EVEN ) it's called KARMA. VIETNAM, JAPAN, AFRICA, IRAN, IRAQ, AFGANASTAN.............I COULD GO ON AND ON. WE WILL GET EXACTLY WHAT WE PUT OUT. THATS THE LAW OR ATTRACTION. SORRY I WROTE YOU A BOOK. STAY SAFE AND CONTINUE TO BE BLESSED.

PS, I AM NOT OF ARAB DECENT, I AM A AFRICAN AMERAICAN OF CHRISTAN FAITH.

Jimmy from north carolina   June 21st, 2009 7:51 pm ET

Please put this on tomorrow. I didn't know there were so many bigots in this country until Obama was elected. The GOP is a camp of sore losers
like kids who had their toys taken away. Obama is walking a good line in the sand! Quit trying to push him off it.

Health Care Reform

Health care costs cannot be lowered enough for universal coverage until the HMOs are shut down. A government controlled system would be free of the profits, the high administrative costs and the greed, all of which have devastated our current health care insurance system.

Eric   June 22nd, 2009 8:01 am ET

Rick, I have been watching the economy and the markets very closely for the last 6 months and I would like to know if economists really are the most fickle, ridiculous and most intelligent(stupid) people I have ever had the dismay of encountering on this planet. I am telling you....they can't make up their mind....one minute everything is all amazing and the next minute the sky is falling....could someone please tell them that if they dont stop being idiots and spreading the scare of the day to everyone they are simply making the economy and the markets worse ?!?! What ever happened to the fundamentals of investing and economics??? I mean I am not an economist or an analyst but when you have companies putting out numbers that are down 4% in this global recession you would think that would reflect positively on the stock but instead these twits keep looking back at the year prior when the economy was booming and saying :OH MY GOD THE COMPANY IS IN GOING TERRIBLE !" then the stock slides and essentially the company still made ALOT of money so far and is doing very well......not sure what these people want or are doing and dont think they do either....try a little less emotion and some common sense and maybe that will bring some stability to the economy....

a.c. bagci   June 22nd, 2009 1:05 pm ET

Rick,One positive way out of Iran's situation has to do with the ability to "compromise".Not so much from the peoples point of view(they've been cheated). Why don't both presidential candidates be leaders? It would show a willingness to heal the civil unrest, and show that the peoples wellfare is important. There's still enough power to go around, although it may seem uncomfortable to do so."compromise between the government and it's people in this way can mean less death. The government of Iran may need to be reminded that compromise can be a positive solution between them and it's peoples

Gabe   June 22nd, 2009 3:13 pm ET

Doesn't America have enough on it's plate right now.
We see where it get's us when we meddle into other countries affairs.
Not only that, but do we know who is really behind these rallies?
Come on already

Tom Jewell   June 22nd, 2009 3:19 pm ET

I feel so sorry for the people from Iran and Neda but I haven't forgotten the people in Iran dancing, clapping, stomping and burning our flag after the planes flew into the Twin Towers. Mr. President stay away

Honabet   June 22nd, 2009 3:28 pm ET

"Neda" may become the rallying cry for Iran's protesters but it doesn't
excuse the blatant photo op use of Neda's dying moments. Watching her die over and over did not add to her martyrdom. It just added to
CNN's ratings and fed the appetite of those who saw nothing wrong
with the video. Shame on CNN's directors/managers of the late
night newsroom.

Bill Futterer   June 22nd, 2009 3:28 pm ET

While certainly condemning the violence perpetrated through the Iranian police/military, I continue to hear conflicting information on the protests. Namely, that while the urban protests of the north are prolific and visible, it is likely that rural Iranians–the majority of the population–likely voted heavily in favor of the existing rule and that demonstrations are not significant outside of the urban areas. What are the facts? What does Christine say?

james, portland, or.   June 22nd, 2009 3:28 pm ET

there must be some reason why so many of the signs being displayed in Iran, are in English. Any thoughts on that. James

abid   June 22nd, 2009 3:30 pm ET

CNN's coverage of Iranian election is disgraceful. There are millions of people all over the world who are in refugee camps, people dying in war zone, dying out of hunger; why does CNN not spend a fraction of that time reporting on those issues as they have done with Iran? Obama is being very careful not to meddle with Iran's internal poltics, but CNN is trying really hard to meddle. I believe the obvious reason for CNN's interest in Iran is Israel. how about some reporting from the Ahmedinijad supportera? Please be a news agency not a political tool.

Brian Silveira   June 22nd, 2009 3:34 pm ET

Lets PROMOTE the overthrow of another government, when a few hundred people in IRAN are killed........while WE ignore the millions that are dying in the SUDANESE GENOCIDE.....GREAT JOB CNN!

Mr. Sanchez,

TMZ.com reported over an hour ago that Michael Jackson has died of a heart attack. Why is CNN reporting he is still alive?

sjh

Wendell Prowse   June 26th, 2009 6:56 am ET

NBC,CBS and ABC all reported Michaels death at least an hour before CNN did. Whats up with that? Thought you guys were the best at always scooping everyone else. Oh well, guess you can't win them all. Not to worry, your still number 1 with me.

Janie   July 2nd, 2009 2:08 pm ET

I've been watching the news all day and only Fox has reported yesterday's riff between White House press secretary Robert Gibbs and CBS's Chip Reid and Helen Thomas. Not even CBS has reported it. It's on YouTube. What say you Rick ~ will we hear about it in the 3:00 hour?

lulupalooza1   July 2nd, 2009 4:28 pm ET

The impersonator DOES look/sound more like a young Howard Cosell than Rick. If you don't know who that is, Google him. Haha!

Gloria Sullivan   July 3rd, 2009 3:47 pm ET

Rick, maybe she is getting to be a reporter/or fox getting readying to let her host a show on Fox News

Lance   July 6th, 2009 11:40 am ET

Rick,
Can you or anyone else at CNN tell me why the health care plan that the US Congress, Senate, Supreme Court Justices and President all enjoy is not useful for 43 million Americans who do not have health care insurance now? why is it that all the comments I'm hearing from news commentary and Mitch McConnell is the fear the corporate community is going look and say why not pawn my employees off on the government program? OK, if that program is good for the government, most of whom seem to be in relative good health, then why not make that the standard.? Seems McConnell is simply holding the line for maintaining the status quo in the interest of keeping the health care system bloated.

Theresa Joines   July 6th, 2009 3:16 pm ET

i agree that there is too much coverage ... case in point you are starting coverage at 6:00 am when the memorial doesn't start untill 10:00 am (eastern time), what exactly will you be covering for 4 hours ....

Maryann   July 6th, 2009 3:18 pm ET

I am sick and tired of the coverage on Michael Jackson's death. He was an entertainer and his and his actions involving his treatment to children-to this day- are questionable. I prefer to hear REAL news and not coverage on his death, his memorial or anything else that has to do with him.
It is so sad that Farrah Fawcett's death was over pushed aside because of him. Her life was much more interesting then his.

Get on with the real news!

Michael Clancy   July 6th, 2009 3:21 pm ET

Peter King is doing this for his own political gain .He has never had a nice thing to say about anybody but himself .I don't think I've ever seen him with a smile or a kind word .He's a very bitter person with no hope or charity in his heart .

T-Pain   July 6th, 2009 3:24 pm ET

MJ was never convicted of any crimes, yet (R) Sen. King de-fames the man's name. (R) Sen. King, illustrates the reason why I believe minorities don't see eye to eye with the GOP, they are just a bunch of old school haters.

CARL   July 6th, 2009 3:35 pm ET

Peter King is a very stupid person and is entitle to his opinion. He shouldn't have voiced his opinion in front of the American Leigon Hall.

Just think of the " REVENUE" that is being poured into L.A. for the M.J memorial .Money that the city should be counting!!!!!! HOTELS,MOTELS,FOOD AIR LINE TICKETS WITH TAXES !!!!!!!

Carol Fezzey   July 6th, 2009 3:35 pm ET

I totally agree with the congressman regarding Michael Jackson, finally someone said it! I realize that he is the king of pop but unfortunately he did something that is unforgiveable.

i think rick is all about sensationalism in his reporting and news stories; he doens't seem to show all the facts but his liberal agenda that CNN wants to achieve in the news today.

Please get this non professional out of the news industry as he not what i call fair journalism but very biased stories to the left wing side of liberalism.

Be fiar in your stories and don't show both sides not just your leftiest views.

ENOUGH MICHAEL JACKSON. CNN IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT REAL NEWS,BUT IT IS TURNING INTO ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT. HE IS NOT TO BE HONORED. FAR BETTER PEOPLE ARE TREATED WITH LESS RESPECT BY THE MEDIA...iF YOU MUST DWELL ON THIS, WHY NOT EMPHASIZE IT AS AN ILLUSTRATION OF HOW DRUG ABUSE IS DESTROYING THE LIVES OF SO MANY YOUNG PEOPLE. dO YOU KNOW HOW HEROIN IS INVADING AND DESTROYING THE LIVES OF THE YOUNG IN CITIES AND IN SMALL TOWNS AT AN ALARMING RATE.? THAT IS MUCH MORE LIKELY TO BRING TEARS TO MY EYES.CNN...AMERICA...GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT!

cnn/sanchez....when do you think that cnn news broadcasters,or for that matter of fact, fox, abc, cbs, nbc, and all other news broadcasters are going to stand up to our politicians and when asked a question demand an answer. it really does make our news organizations look very weak when they can't even inform the average person on an issue and then have a politician dance around the question. and all of you just sit there and say ok, we have to take a break now. no wonder people are fed up with government and controlled news media.

Dear Rick,
It's inane to ask whether Afghanis want to throw the Taliban out of their country. The Taliban are Afghani; they don't like warlords and corrupters like Karzai running the country they love and they are fighting back like Americans would if they were invaded. They stopped the heroin-based economy that America has brought back. They stopped the warlords.

Also, Steve McNair was good, but the best quarterback of the last decade? Be serious. Did you forget Peyton Manning and Tom Brady?
McNair was good, but he's unlikely to make the hall of fame.
