I definitely wouldn't follow Mr. Doyel. In moderation as in most things, Twitter is OK.

Jeff Clark   June 15th, 2009 2:14 pm ET

Hello Rick,

We sound hypocritical criticizing the elections in Iran as we ourselves manipulated our elections once before...or have we forgotten the chads?

Also, I think we should be praising Iran instead, because as questionable this election might be, it's much better than the "joke elections' that take place in countries that suppress their people and we support many of these countries, and their elections (if they have one) is usually won by 99%.

Keep up the good work Rick.

Chris   June 15th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

Hey Rick,

What do you think the image of Iran to the rest of the world will be if there government starts officially banning reporters from delivering news out of Iran.

Montreal, Canada

Joe   June 15th, 2009 3:02 pm ET

Hey Rick,

Do you think the Supreme Leader of Iran is being forced by all these demonstrations all around the world to go through with investigations of fraud in the election?

Montreal

Joe   June 15th, 2009 3:06 pm ET

Hi Rick,

If the government of Iran is actually responsible for the death of the civilian that we just saw, do you think the situation will escalate?

Vancouver

Michael   June 15th, 2009 3:09 pm ET

Iranians have guts during thier Bush moment, Americans complain and do nothing. Michael

ester   June 15th, 2009 3:13 pm ET

We are well aware of how the iranian voters feel! Having had an election "stolen" in this country and feeling helpless to do anything about it. I hope they are not stuck with the incompetency we suffered because of it!!

DJ   June 15th, 2009 3:15 pm ET

The people in Iran should have the right to protest freely.

"Social media has changed the globe?!!!" Get real! The Ayatollahs will tell us who the winner is.

Betty   June 15th, 2009 3:18 pm ET

Hi Rick
I think all Hell is going to break loose in Iran.
We know what happened in our "stolen" election, but we didn't have a riot. But if the Fox News media get their way--they will cause a revolution in this country. They had best stop bashing our President and show some respect. After all, President Obama won the election honestly and fairly.

Is Christina Amaoue embarrassed to have "tweats" under her report and when she is finished, can you reccomend a station I can get the news?

Michael McDowell, from Ft Hood Texas   June 15th, 2009 3:21 pm ET

Holy Bush V. Gore....Batman. You mean other countries have fraud rigged elections besides the United States!!! Bush and Ahmadinejad are twins separated from birth

James   June 15th, 2009 3:30 pm ET

Hello,

Iran is a democratic country and the people vote for their president, not the supreme leader who is not voted among the people. Their government should stay honest with the people. Here in Toronto there are many demonstrations. It's crazy.

Toronto, Ontario

mike   June 15th, 2009 3:32 pm ET

hey Rick how do you count 40 million paper votes in two hours ! we need to ge a patent on this LOL

Tony   June 15th, 2009 3:33 pm ET

Rick,

I consider you one of CNN's brightest rising stars. Pleases correct the pronounciation of Mamoud Ahmadinejad.

There are no C's or K's in Ahmadinejad. It seems almost everyone at CNN says AK- MA -Din.......except for the international reporters who speak the langauge.

Aaahhh Maaaa- Din-e-jad

Thanks Rick, I enjoy the show.

Best regards, Tony

Why does cnn keep showing the same video loop over and over (the fire). This does not represent the majority of peaceful demonstrations. News networks should have some sort of standard and should be held accountable for their misinformation. But then who would watch?

PASTOR EDDIE   June 15th, 2009 3:36 pm ET

RICK,
THE BEST WAY TO HAVE A FRIENDSHIP WITH SOMEONE IS TO ACKNOWLEDGE WHO THEY ARE NOT BOW TO IT ..IRAN/IRAQ MEDES AND PERSIANS. THEIR PRES. DOESNT EVEN DRESS LIKE OTHER DANGEROUS WORLD LEADERS, THATS WHAT MAKES HIM SO DANGEROUS.

Butterfly   June 15th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

As Americans, do we have the guts to stand up against wrongs we know of as the Iranians are? We can not even get out of our chairs to go vote. If we were willing to stand up and shout, we might have better health care, more jobs here, and less homelessness.

Anthony Smith   June 15th, 2009 3:43 pm ET

I feel sorry for Cher's daughter. She is obviously confused. IMO. Homosexuality is not about sex but control and power. Cher's daughter grew up with a mother who had to take control and become a "father figure" to pprovide a livifng for her children after she divorced Sonny Bono. Cher's daughter mistook that power and control had and manifested it towards herself. Consequently she thought/thinks that because she feels powerful inside and a need to take control she unwisely manifest those ffeelings and applied them towards her sexuality.

So sad. :(

Peter DeSanto   June 15th, 2009 3:48 pm ET

Why are people surprised to see the man who may have won the vote is not the man to be elected. It happens all the time in America.

Elie   June 15th, 2009 3:48 pm ET

America owes Iranian people to take action and support Iranian people right now. It was Carter who took our king and brought these atatollahs to us and destroyed Iran for thirty years.

Jenni/dogsmycopilot   June 15th, 2009 3:49 pm ET

No, Rick I am not overtweeted. What I am tired of is your fellow journalists (Martin Bashir, I'm talking to you) putting down Twitter, acting like they are disgusted by it and then asking us to follow them and getting their bits and pieces from us.

I am tired of people who do not use Twitter having something to say about it. If you don't like it don't use it, but don't make stupid uneducated assumptions about people who do use it just because you don't get it.

As the Iranian elections show there are things Twitter is suited for like nothing else. People all over the globe get a voice they did not have before. Did you see the story about the Moldavians using Twitter? Even if this is the best that ever comes of Twitter it was worth it.

Matt   June 15th, 2009 3:51 pm ET

Thank you for continuing to show the reality so the world can see how things are going in Iran. If I were the Ayatollah I would be getting a little nervous. Isn't it possible that a revolution could continue to oust the so called "supreme leader." If I were him I would be packing my bags. I hope that this will happen and Iran can finally become truly democratic.

PASTOR EDDIE   June 15th, 2009 3:52 pm ET

HEY RICK,
DID ANY ONE REALLY BELIEVE THAT ANYONE ELSE WOULD WIN THAT "ELECTION". IF SO I HAVE SOME BEACH FRONT PROPERTY IN KENTUCKY THEY CAN BUY.

Europe has boycotted our food because they know it is unhealthy. Gmo's, Engineered foods are pushed on the farmers by Monsanto the chemical giant. Your foods have been engineered with the pesticides within the DNA of the seedsand sold to our farmers. Big Industry wants the American public to get dummer and dummer so they can continue to pollute our food sources and make hugh profits. As a point of interest look up the story about the head attorney from Monsanto who went over to head up the FDA and passed all these genetically engineered foods without any human testing. Greed has been running agriculture and Monsanto has also bioengineered seeds that have only one life cycle so the farmer has to by new seeds each year these seeds have been connected to the drop in the bee population that is so critical in cross pollination. Don't eat bioengineered food. Thanks Rick for having the long range vision to know how important this topic is to our children.

As someone who has voted for Ahmadynejad I won't be happy if I know he has cheated.... Also we need a peresident In our country to stand strong and never bow to United State, United Kingdom, and Israil....

geejay   June 15th, 2009 3:55 pm ET

Hey Rick....
is English the first language of Iran? I was not aware...just wondering why the protester signs are in English and not the native language? Is this being staged for the english-speaking media? Funny, no one has mentioned that in the news coverage..

jack morrell   June 15th, 2009 3:55 pm ET

The pictures coming from Iran should make each of us to take a moment and reflect on our system of politics and government. How important it is that we protect our freedoms and our constitution. No one person or group can be above the law for any reason. A slow erosion of our founding fathers vision occured over the last eight years in so many areas. We cannot let this go unpunished

Steven Share   June 15th, 2009 3:56 pm ET

...as to the over "Twitter'd" deal. No. I'm so under "Twitter'd" that I don't even know how to do it. I sent my first mobile text a month or so ago, and only joined "Facebook" a couple of weeks ago in order to communicate with any one of my four children.

NOW! THe real reason I'm writing. You were talking about the food that we here in AMERICA are and appears to be, on the surface at least, being overly chemically infused in order to line the pockets of the "Fat Cats." Arre these the same "Fat Cats' that brought Wall Street to its knees?

Finally, I was in Iran in the 70's & 80's...it's always the same crowds in the streets-near the news cameras. Next time it's NOT news-the food thing in America IS news. Stay on Target!!

A.D.   June 15th, 2009 4:01 pm ET

Why does CNN care so much about what we think? The regular citizens around here are just armchair reporters basing everything they say on what YOU say. Why not just cut out the middle man and become journalists again, ignoring the out of context things we think?

With all these comments from twitter, facebook, myspace, etc etc etc, this is just a television talk show instead of a news show. If we want to report on things, we can join newsvine.com (Oh no, did I just start another senseless "I Report" sensation?)

abby0802   June 15th, 2009 4:05 pm ET

I am watching the news on CNN about Iran and the protests

Why should anyone be surprised that the elections results are rigged?

Iran is a theocracy, not a democracy.

Even in 2000 Bush managed to steal an election in our "democractic" country.

As I watch the protests, it reminds me so much of what happened in China 20 years ago, and I'm afraid it will end up the same way -

My heart and prayers are with the Iranians who wanted an honest election and now have been betrayed.

oklafan   June 15th, 2009 4:06 pm ET

Thank you, CNN, for showing the world what is happening in Iran. Why aren't the other cable news networks showing something with worldwide implications??!!

Rick Sanchez.... Oklahoma state police / ambulance incident...
As a retired Big city cop with over 30 years on the street I would like to comment on the State Trooper and the Ambulance...

I thank CNN that they showed the entire incident not just a blurb. I would like to know what "hand gesture" the driver of the ambulance gave to the Trooper to possibly set him off.

next, I thank the Ambulance Supervisor and driver for their professionalism and how they acted.

I think the citizens should also be praised for their actions, (which was calmness) during the incident.

The trooper should get some anger management training from the Ambulance crew and the citizens. If his attitude can be corrected, I believe he will be a better trooper. Correction, not firing would be best!

Also if his code-3 call was so important ,,,why did he stop?

I believe all police can learn and become better Officers by watching this Video.

Harold (Tony) Oliver   June 15th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

This comment is in reference to the food we grow & produced in this country, not only today but going back to more thank 15 years or more as been so bad to the consummer especialy the poor, because it's hard to pay attention about what are the best choices at the supermarket if you don't have enogh to afford something better, most of our problems begins with our political officials because they supposed to enforce the laws of this country most importantly the food & drugs administration, in my opinion they do not care about the less fortunate and that is the reason that most people today have some kind of cancer as opposed to 20 to 30 years ago, cancer today is a common vocabulary and it's not by choice. I have a lot to suggest on the subjet bu I don't know how.

Martin in Shoreline, WA   June 15th, 2009 4:23 pm ET

Misleading us again, eh Rick? Yes, you let the public comment. I support this approach. I think it has the potential to revolutionize news. But not the way you approach it. The way you approach news still leaves it "mainstream". By "mainstream", I mean "as bias as you can get". You are every bit as guilty as FOX "News". I'm starting to think of CNN as the "Caucasians Not Necessary" station. I think of FOX as the "For Orthodox Xenophobes" station.

You don't post much in the way of facts that prove you to be wrong. You rarely even post anything that disagrees with you, unless it was written by an obvious moron. This makes you look good, of course. Even if you are wrong. News isn't about your hair day Rick.

I don't expect this will be posted. I also report every comment of mine you do not post to the online community. I can understand you deleting comments that are vulgar or threatening; even though I believe it is the epitome of censorship. But censoring based upon ideology is not acceptable. People in the online community will come to realize what you are doing very quickly. I think you should wake up to that fact.

However, I must thank you for finally showing few child molestors who are not white. I must admit that was a pleasant surprise. Start telling the public how a white person's chances of being murdered by a black person, is nine times higher than a black person being murdered by a white; and maybe we can actually solve the lingering racial issues in this country.

unnamed   June 15th, 2009 5:13 pm ET

WHAT YOU ARE NOT SEEING ON CNN, MESSAGE FROM MY COUSIN IN VALI-ASR SQUARE: "People are being thrown off the roofs of the Tehran University, 5 people have been thrown off and killed. Students have been beaten in the middle of the night, some killed. 10 died on the streets at the hands of the Basij. Women beaten in front of their children, rocks thrown in their faces. They have been clubbed and have fractured skulls

Jason   June 15th, 2009 5:29 pm ET

Please, Rick.

Just saw your cringeworthy defense of CNN's "coverage" of the Iranian uprising.,

I got far more information from Andrew Sullivan's blog, as well as the blogs of the National Iranian-American Council, Tehran Bureau, and the New York Times.

When I turned to CNN on Saturday night, I saw Larry King talking to the American Chopper dudes. When I turned to YOUR OWN PROGRAM THIS AFTERNOON, you were talking about "Do we know what we're eating?"

Hey, did you know there might be a revolution beginning in Iran? Not if you're watching CNN.

K   June 15th, 2009 5:40 pm ET

The countdown to irrelevance has started . . . when are they planning to break the news to Rick?

I canceled my cable subscription today.

Anita McCants   June 15th, 2009 5:56 pm ET

Hi Rick,
Whether this whole Twitter thing crash and burn
the way Gregg Doyel predicts it will, right now it's a
great tool for networking and connecting with others.

I think it's awesome that you, Tavis Smiley, Maria
Shriver, and Amy Wood (@TVAmy) follow as many
people that follow you.

I don't know how long this Twitter thing may last,
but it's a great thing to have right now.

Eric Jackson   June 16th, 2009 2:13 am ET

Rick, I have questions for Greg Doeyl, who says that twitter is dumbing down America.

Are we getting dumb from following stocks? For decades people have followed the ticker of a wide variety of stocks. Which is more valuable, a stock or a human life?

Are we getting dumb from following the weather? Do you know how many different forecasts we can obtain? And what about that weather radio?

Are we getting dumb from following the Music BillBoards?

Are we getting dumb from following the Final Four? Not everyone watches every game. They get updates from various places.

Are we getting dumb from following air traffic? Thank God that there is a government agency made specifically for this purpose.

Are police dumb for following/monitoring their radios? I am so glad that they get updates on reported crimes.

Leo   June 16th, 2009 9:43 am ET

I miss Rick! Where is he. He's missing. His show has not been on for a couple of weeks. Please tell me you didn't let him go. He's the best thing since sliced bread.

Want to know – Leo

manchy   June 16th, 2009 10:11 am ET

I saw your clip about CNN's coverage with regards to the Iran election. This is what I have experienced.

When I was on my computer Saturday noon here in Asia, I checked out Google's news section and have already been seeing news on violence and protest erupt in Tehran. My first instinct was to check out CNN's web site for the latest news and there was absolutely nothing, nothing about the violence and protest happening after the elections. And I did try to refresh the web site a couple of times just to make sure.

If I'm not mistaken the banner story then was about the switchover from analog to digital TV in the states. My next move was to check out BBC's web site which had breaking news on this. And I also checked out twitter, which I'm not really a fan off, but has proven itself before.

Indeed, CNN had extensive coverage to the run up of the elections. What I would agree with on the CNNfail tag on twitter is that those critical moments right after the elections where violence and protest flared up and nothing was on CNN.com.

After this brief lapse, CNN.com has come out with a stronger coverage and that is much appreciated.

Sun   June 16th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

I want to let you know that I don't want you in my head anymore.
Could you please understand that you have no reason to create a system and to read my mind all the time. My dreams belong to me and my life too. I made already a complain against you in the UNHCR concerning the Sun system programm. I really desegree with it. So please just live me and my family brain alone. Thank you !
You are not abble to organize small thing all you can do is using people...

That was just a mistake to know you...Good bye

Twitter is not making us dumber, the school sustem has that well in hand.

Drew   June 17th, 2009 3:13 pm ET

its funny how that guy isnt a fan of social media and yet if it wasnt fot social media, we wouldnt be able to get any info from Iran. I wonder if he is eating his words or is he just stubborn and unwilling to acknowledge this fairly new technology?

To me...   June 17th, 2009 3:21 pm ET

To me...these days are not about the 'social networking' thingy's...it's about real people committing to real events (i.e., Tiananmen Square). The means of expressing current events has changed, not the human reality of the event. Even the technique of communication is much less the real issue, to me, it is the stand of individuals against feeling wronged.

A. Baral   June 17th, 2009 3:32 pm ET

Rick-
On a lighter side...I am no fashionista, but... Isn't a striped suit with a striped shirt and a patterned tie a no-no? Looks odd to me. And.... How do you feel about Campbell Brown correcting herself yesterday by saying, "My Bad..."
Since when is it more important to sound "cool" instead of sounding intelligent? Thanks for your time.

howard   June 17th, 2009 6:01 pm ET

I'm tired of hearing Tiananmen Square mentioned in regard to China all the time. Should they bring up The Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Waco, Watts and Kent State at every turn?

Jim Green   June 18th, 2009 6:36 pm ET

Sorry for the lentth........and lack of relevance to your subject......

Rick Sanchez-nothing seems out of bounds on your program and you talk about hot-button issues others seems afraid to discuss-so here is one—inflammatory political rhetoric that incites violence:

I am the first in line when it come to defending the First Amendment--but when reckless and inflammatory language is used—(in a desperate effort to resurrect the Republican Party) in particular Bill O'Reilly and Jon Voight-and which has stepped up of late on FOX-

And, which incites unstable hate mongers to violence--such was James VonBrunn and Scott Roeder (they are our proof that they are out there).....

The question is: Has this irresponsible, volatile rhetoric crossed a line –and is the same as “Yelling fire in a crowded theater”-not protected by the First Amendment-

And if so, what recourse do we have?

It is not enough that millions of Voight's fan (I, for one) now see him as a nut case—and refuse to watch any movie he is in-past or future—but this does little to address how this riles up these unstable, hate-filled lunatics—or the victims of their rage!

Don't we have laws against inciting people to violence?

Consider the following email sent separately:

Actor, Jon Voight should be put on trial as a co-conspirator, along with white supremacist James Von Brunn- in the murder of Holocaust Museum guard, Tyrone Johns, on June 10, 2009.
At a Republican fund raiser on June 8, 2009 Voight said that his “devout wish was to bring an end to the false prophet Obama.”

Voight has been around long enough to know that this type of reckless and inflammatory statement can incite unstable hate mongers like Von Brunn to violent behavior, and, in fact, two days later Von Brunn did murder black Special Police Officer Johns. And if the FBI is not exploring a possible connection, they are not doing their homework!

And not to say that Voight is all that stable, himself—obviously no stable person would make such an irresponsible statement—(maybe he has a brain tumor?) but someone in the media should ask Voight- “How do you plan on doing that, Jon?”

In the meantime, however, Voight should be on trial for murder along with Von Brunn—if only to send a message to FOX, et al that “Shouting fire in a crowded theater [same difference]” is not protected speech under the First Amendment....!

While CNN parrots U.S. / Israel foreign policy , the elmination of the Ahmadinejan Gov. with non-stop biased coverage , they hide the REAL story effecting every American , to protect the banking elites and hyping the Iran story more in one hour , than the GAZA castrophe in the last several years . The Bias , the emphases is appalling .

The real story censored or given short and biased attention is the Federal Reserve complete take over of this counties economic system , never giving voices against the Federal Reserve monoploy of our economic lives , a chance to be aired .

P Watson " President Obama’s plan to give the privately-owned and unaccountable Federal Reserve complete regulatory oversight across the entire U.S. economy, which is likely to be enacted before the end of the year, will officially herald the beginning of a new form of government in the United States – an ultra-powerful banking dictatorship controlled by a small gaggle of shadowy and corrupt elitists."

And the MYTH CNN wants to perpetuate is that there is oversight or accountability over the Federal Reserve , it's not true . And the FACT Kucinich's audit legislature of the Fed , gets no coverage is more proof, the so called news in this country , is in cahoots , protecting the banking elite .

ABC TV has just officially proclaimed itself an arm of the Obama administration along with CBS and NBC. Tom Brokaw has been appointed as a Special Correspondent for NBC News to some White House commission. They are not even pretending to be fair and unbiased anymore. And O'Reilly is a pussycat next to the likes of Keith Oberman. If you are going after anyone for some nouveau version of so called "hate speech" he should be at the top of the list. Should they be jailing Genine Gerafalo, Rosie O'Donald and Barbara Streisand?

Clifford Taylor   June 22nd, 2009 4:24 pm ET

why should we care what happens in Iran? We have no voice here in the U.S.A. . when Bush was vote in the first time did we have a fair election? no. Did they drop the state of Florida? Hilliary ran for office didn't they drop two states so she didn't win the primary if we can't have are voices heard here in U.S.A. we have no right say anything about another nation. Until are vote counts.

By; The Ancient Curmudgeon

May 4th 1970 our own National Guard shot and killed four students and wounded nine others for protesting the Governments involvement in Vietnam. While I do not condone for a single moment what the Government in Iran has done, we as a nation have absolutely no right to criticize. Our Government has taken the right to criticize away from us, and shame on us for letting it. Kent State was not the only example of our own Governments efforts to silence the rights of supposedly free people to speak. One only has to look at the democratic convention in Chicago in 1968, or Ruby Ridge, or Waco.

How can we expect to inspire people to protest injustice when our own Government has suppressed our citizens to protest lack of true justice. Our President is right not to say anything at this time. I believe had he been president in 1970 Kent State would never have been allowed to happen. However I also believe that he should take action to strongly punish Iran with sanctions thru the United Nations that have real teeth in them. Lead from your strength not the weakness of past mistakes. The Iranian government is nothing more than a bunch of un-educated thugs. Their so called supreme leader is nothing more than a despot dictator and needs to be replaced by whatever means necessary.

Our country is, at this time not involved with what is happening in Iran and has no influence on events there. However irresponsible reporting from CNN is. They are in violation of laws in our country by trying to promote an uprising in a foreign country. The blood of people killed there are solely on the hands of CNN and there news staff. CNN cares nothing about the lives of people in Iran or anywhere else their purpose is to create news at any cost including the lives of anyone who is dumb enough to believe what they are doing is helping them to achieve what they want. CNN should be investigated by congress and have their broadcast license taken away by the FCC for numerous violations.

Sincerely
The Ancient Curmudgeon Speaks

howard   June 22nd, 2009 11:09 pm ET

I think that Iranian politics is much like ours in that the people are only presented with an array of bad candidates. What does it matter who wins the election, it's the people who continue to lose.

PLEASE cover team USA at the soccer Confederation Cup in So. Africa. The USA reaching the semi-finals, and now reaching the finals is the MAJOR news worldwide. It's not on CNN in the US and not on your website's front page. It's been a miracle run. These players should be big celebrities. Dempsey and Altidore are HEROS. This is a very happy story in the midst of bad news. Let's celebrate our victories.

On this conversation about being hooked on prescription drugs.
I became addicted to xanax and vicodin. I was in an automobile accident requiring the vicodin and then I just up and decided one day that I needed something to calm my nerves and started taking xanax. I accidentally slid into an addiction. When I tried to get off the xanax I found it very difficult and went to detox. I do have some stress as I am a caregiver for an elderly Mother. So I used that as an excuse. I still have a prescription for xanax, but I'm not abusing it. I use for it's intended purpose, to calm me down when I have a stressful attack, sometimes caused by the 2nd, 3rd withdrawal of xanax. To answer why we keep using; it's because it becomes a mental and physical addiction and one needs professional help to stop.

Rick-
I am a dinosaur and not quite sure where to add a comment on what you are addressing. The media needs to be careful about not going on a witch hunt against pain killers. With degenerative spine disorder I experience pain constantly. Oxycotin and Percoset managed and prescribed by a pain managment specialist allows me to walk upright and tolerate househod chores. Without it I would be in suicidal pain. There are legitimate medical uses for these drugs and we need to ensure that those with a medical reason to use them are the only ones who receive them. Sorry if I blogged in the wrong place.

Dear Rick,
I am writing because I am concerned about you broadcast on July 1st, 2009. You did a story about the problem of addiction to prescription drugs in America and the fact that Micheal Jacksons death has caused many to be more aware of this problem. Your coverage of this issue was one-sided and inaccurate. Many important facts were left out. Over 45 million Americans suffer from chronic pain (many more people than are addicted to prrescription medications). It is the most untreated or undertreated serious medical problem in the United States. The use of opiate analgesics (like Oxycontin and Morphine) is absolutely necessary to treat moderate to severe chronic pain. 13 years ago I was run over buy a vehicle and have suffered chronic pain since then. At first I took Vicodin which was largely inffective and I was concerned about the Tylenol in the pillls damaging my liver. When Oxycontin was introduced it saved my life.and I was able to function somewhat normally again. \

Dear Rick,

I would like to add some further comments related to the story about prescription drug addiction in America. The psychiatrist and recovering drug addict both stated that medications like Oxycontin or Opana are no different than illegal drugs. Nothing could be further from the truth and you should have challenged this statement. These drugs have a very important medical use. There are very good reasons (too many and too complex to list here) that Heroin is illegal and Oxycontin is not. Long term and proper use of these drugs could not have caused Mr. Jackson heart problem. Long term use of Tylenol causes more physiological damage than any of these medications. Please interview a pain management physician and/or a pain patient to give an unbiased view of this issue. Please show America the other side of these medications and the incredible good they do for chronic pain sufferers. Pleae don't make us feel like drug addicts or worry that the medications we rely on will be taken off the market.

Thanks!
