Hi Rick,
I am contacting you to ask if you would do a show on horse slaughter?
This cruelty has been going on in the US for decades until the last slaughter plant was closed in ILL in 2007. But there was no laws on the books to stop American horses from being shipped to Canada/ Mexico to be killed. There is no humane way except euthanasia to put a horse down. The cattle industry claims that the organizations trying to stop our horses from being killed and shipped to the EU for human consumption are trying to stop people from eating meat such as beef, pork, chicken etc. There are horse breeders in the US that over-breed looking for that perfect show horse, race horse or rodeo cutting horse and what happens to the ones that don't make it? A lot of them are sold to killer buyers at auctions. Many are young healthy animals. Average age is seven years old, if that. These are not old or sick animals. The killer buyers won't buy those, they want healthy fat horses. There are two Bills in congress H.R.503 and S.727 that would put a stop to this madness. There was released from the US Agriculture Dept inspector reports showing injuries to the horses that happened in the trucks with dead animals, some with eyes knocked out , bloody bodies and faces. Some of the states want to bring this cruelty back . The reason is money and greed. It is call breed and dump. It is a way for the breeders to overbreed and then dump the ones they don't want. The slaughter plants in the US was used for this purpose. These animals are not fed or watered for as long as 20 hrs. I am a member of americansagainst horse slaughter.com We are a grass roots organization that is fighting to have these two Bills passed. If you want to see the videos of just what this is go to YouTube Information about this is all over the internet. You may be just the right person that could help us and the horses. Thank you

Hi, I would like people to know about an internet scam that cost me $6000.00 and put my property into foreclosure. With the housing market and financial picture what they are I'm sure many people are at risk. A company, GWFS, contacted me and offered to modify my mortgage that is at almost 10% with Indy Mach Bank. On thier emails they used a web address for Great Western Bank (whom they apparently have no connection with) along with they're own contacts. They took payment to modify my mortgage and lower my rate. They told me to stop paying my mortgage to get the bank to work with me. When I expressed concern they assured me that every bank worked with them and that they would refund my money if anything would hapen. When I started to receive call and letters from the bank I called the bank and they told me that they have not heard from GWFsense the initial contact. Then GWF, Mo Amir, assured me that he would take care of everything and reiterated not to pay the bank. When receved a letter stating that my home was in foreclosure and that it would be sold in June. I immeidatly called Mo Amir and he said that he was refiling paper work in 45 days. I did not believe him so I called the bank and I offered to pay but they said I had to pay $15,000 up front or my home would remain in foreclosure. Indy Mac refered me to thier debt resolution dept. I have since worked out a plan with Indy Mac but of course I now have legal fees and late fees plus a lump sum to come up with. GWF no longer takes my calls and responds by email in foul language and insist that they are still working on the modification, of corse Indy Mac has asured me that they do not do modifications with GWF and have not heard for them since the intial contact. I do not want to see this happen to anyone else and I feel that there are many people in my position. If 45 days had gone by there would be no way to work with the bank except full repayment plus legal fees and late fees. The fraudulent use of a real Bank's web address gives them credulance, while R&R holdings, the real name of GWFS, bilks people and cost them their homes.

Hi! Rick,
I watch your show pretty much every day and you seem to be the only one that is fair and balanced about things in our gov't. I wish Rush Limbaugh would come on your show, he is such a crazy person and with all his money I hope he does move back to Florida. It is people like him that keep the people all upset over things that is happening in our world and if they would just pray about them instead it would be a better world.
That's all I have to say except I do enjoy your show.
Thanks for listening to me ramble on.

Sincerely,
Wanda

Dear Rick: Am I correct ?
On April 13 / 09 the Obama Government announced that Cuban Americans will shortly be allowed unlimited visits to Cuba and unrestricted money transfers.
Over the past 17 years I have made 63 research trips to cuba and would like to put forward a number of facts and opinions on these changes.
Cubans come from two basic ethnic backgrounds – African and Europeon. The ethnic split is complex but I estimate less than 30 % have a 100 % Europeon background. Currently there is serious ethnic stress in Cuba due to racial polarization which is mainly the result of economic envy.
The vast amount of Cuban Americans have an Europeon background and many of the richest families came to the U.S. before and just after Dr. Fidel Castro took power in 1959. Many young children came before their parents and were called " Peter Pan Children." These Europeon – Cuban Americans have been extremely successful at creating vast wealth.
These new regulation may very well cause massive problems between the two ethnic groups in Cuba due to the priviledge money can buy. Envy could very well get out of control.
Please feel free to add your comments.

Rick,

I am reaching out to you to do a story on my friend that needs your help. His website is verybadhome.com

He purchased a modular home over two years ago and they failed to set teh home up properly and it now is uninhabitable due to mold and other major issues. My friend has lived in an extended stay america for over two years now and has run out of money so his attorney stopped representing him due to lack of funds. It appears that the stalling techniques by the homebuilder worked and they strong armed him out of his right to just what he paid for...a liveable home.

I am reaching out to you for your help as he does not know what to do anymore. Chuck Goudie of ABC news Chicago actually did a story a good time ago called Modular Mess in which he touched on the issues at hand. I feel your expertise and ability to reach out to the average person in America could greatly help. I also think it could save more people from suffering the same fate as my friend Robert Kot. Again, his website is verybadhome.com ...I think you will just be shocked at what happened.

Dave

Just what part of illegals do the American Government not understand?
Change the law so that a child born in the GOOD OL'US of A.
,of an illegal is NOT a citizen of this country.
Illegal will remain Illegal.

Sandra Mason   April 26th, 2009 7:47 am ET

I woke up this morning to see that there was another shooting at a college campus...Hampton University. I also noticed that the news story about the end of the Pontiac brand for GM was one of five story listed above this awlful incidence. Why is that? Is the safety of our students attending HBCU's not as important as our students attending mainstream colleges? This is an another example of how the national media downplays tragedies that affect minorities.

Alex Campos   April 26th, 2009 3:25 pm ET

Hi Rick
President Obama in its first 100 days
No other president in our modern times has been so ambitious more
dedicate & resolute to confront our national delemas on economy
health programs, enviromental issues & religion in its first 100days
Our president has also completly overhauled foreigns policy from
Cuba to Afghanistan, from Europe OTAN to Chavez & Pakistan.
A radical change in the procedings of actions has taken place;
separating himself from the policies of the past. It is what's makes
of him a World Champion visionary. America will prevail & succeed.

Rick, does having a flu shot around last winter help resist swine flu at all?

RJ   April 27th, 2009 3:07 pm ET

I agree 100% with Alex Campos, The only thing so far that I dont agree with our Prez is his stance on illegal immigration, what part of illegal does he not understand? Start enforcing the employment laws that currently exist with regards to illegals! If the businesses here in this country stop giving these illegals jobs (so they can keep more of there money not because its a job Americans wont do) then they will stop coming over in herds! Then we need to legalize and tax drugs(because the war on drugs has been a complete failure and more kids than ever use them) to not only help our own economy but keep the Mexican druglords in check!

Dude   April 27th, 2009 3:11 pm ET

Its not "Can we panic?"
Its "should we panic?"

Unless your just all too ready to panic at the drop of a dime...
Which many Americans are these days...
Fear is your only god.

Sandy Harrow   April 27th, 2009 3:14 pm ET

How come I do not hear about the Swine Flu fiasco of 1976. I remember standing in line for hours with my children for free vaccine. Turned out to be false. I believed it then, I do not believe it now.

Rich, Kankakee IL.   April 27th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

This reminds me of that 1980 movie called "Virus", it was nice of the Republicans to shoot down the funding to protect Americans again

Brig   April 27th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

Rick.. This may sound like a dumb question.. But how did the Asian strain of the flu end up in Mexican pigs ? 2 Ideas.. 1) I am thinking a Trojan Horse involving the Mexican Drug trade.. Who benefits the most from a collapse of the Mexican drug Cartels ? OR 2) Mexico city is not ground city.. Instead its some small poverty stricken village which suports the cartels.. This virus lives on inanimate objects ..How else could this virus pop all over the world at once? People are not necessarily the easy answer.. The virus is being shipped by the cartels unknowingly all over ...

Spencer Boyle   April 27th, 2009 3:27 pm ET

Sandy,
I read about that recently and it appears relevant. It's no reason to ignore the current outbreak as they are not the same, but it certainly important to consider. I think I read that it mysteriously disappeared.

Obama is correct in saying we shouldn't panic, as that would pretty much slap the economy in the face. Republicans would further say that it is his fault, and follow up with several personal attacks.

Frank Hays   April 27th, 2009 3:27 pm ET

Rick what are the airlines doing ? Are they washing down the plane after each flite.

Linda in Mt. Ida Arkansas   April 27th, 2009 3:28 pm ET

Rick:

Could this virus be related to the 3 missing virus vials from the Maryland Military facility. We never heard anymore about that incident. If it happens to be related, then we should have an antidote or the workings of one. Also, what has happened to the press that accopmanied President Obama to Mexico? Any illnesses with them?

Thanks

Will   April 27th, 2009 3:29 pm ET

I think the reason people have died in Mexico is because they weren't immunized like Americans are. They Mexican government probably would not admit that, because it has a negative effect on illegal immigration!!!!

Juli   April 27th, 2009 3:30 pm ET

I live in an farming community, many farm laborers are from Mexico, return to Mexico to visit family, etc...this is causing quite concern in our area. Also, in late March, 1st of April, we had returning "spring-breakers" come home from Mexico...one small school (rural communities) had 93 students home sick...school did close....these are the things causing fear...not the media...we are THANK-FUL for ALL information being shared!!!

Charlene Gurlea   April 27th, 2009 3:32 pm ET

In 1976 our family was one of the 24% nationwide who were inoculated for the Swine Flu. Such a panic & then it was cancelled. I'm sure our immunity is gone by now or is it?

James wood   April 27th, 2009 3:34 pm ET

How many times can Janet Napolitano say , UH ? Who has the strength of mind to listen to her speak ? I had to turn it off , and just get the info from you Rick...

Juli   April 27th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

in4bass...they are saying "NO" the flu shot will not resist this "swine flu" strain...my question is, those infected with this A/H1N1 strain, will they have some resistance to the Avian Flu ? Eurasisa Swine flu strain?...as I understand it there are 4 components, Swine flu, Avian flu, Human flu, and Eurasia swine flu....right????

Trudy Royster   April 27th, 2009 3:39 pm ET

Rick, why don't they rename this flu? It isn't just swine flu...it's a combination of swine flu, bird flu, and human flu. Calling it swine flu is misleading.

mrsret   April 27th, 2009 3:41 pm ET

If President Obama had been sick , I don't think he would have been seen daily for the past two weeks .

What do reporters expect, Gibbs to make up something to satisfy them?

Margie   April 27th, 2009 3:42 pm ET

I'm going to be traveling to San Juan Puerto Rico in the middle of May.
If there is any travel restrictions. How would this affect me and my family from coming back home to Fla if it goes into affect while I'm there.

Love your show.
.

Ricc   April 27th, 2009 3:42 pm ET

I am watching the news briefing being held by the D.H.S. Sec. and she did not mention the thousands of employees that work for the T.S.A. and what she plans to do for their well-being as they work at the airports around the country!

maria   April 27th, 2009 3:43 pm ET

I vjust call U.S. Airlines for re shedule ,iwent there guidelines, but still you have to pay the different, price whats the point of them helping me.

George   April 27th, 2009 3:44 pm ET

Any type of over population in any animal causes disease, its natures way of controling the over population. That is why we should close the borders to mexico ( among countless other reasons) like we should have done long ago.

donna sampson   April 27th, 2009 3:44 pm ET

i find it strange that all the government officials are talking about travel being restricted to Mesico, however, I don't hear any of them talking about stopping illegial aliens from entering the U.S. which is probably one of the primary ways this flu is coming into this country. Gee, do you think it's because it would harm their left wing agenda????

JOHN BRANDI   April 27th, 2009 3:45 pm ET

Rick, that fence along the Mexican border is looking better every minute, hate to say it!

Will C.   April 27th, 2009 3:46 pm ET

This is just another move by our Government. The illuminati, bilderburg group and so on have had this planned. It's all a game to them. There testing us. Marshal law is coming soon. Check out the truth at infowars.com, prisonplanet.tv. My advice stay close to Jesus our Lord and Savior. Psalms 56:3- What time I am afraid I will trust in thee.

Angie Romero   April 27th, 2009 3:48 pm ET

Rick
We're told to stay home if we are symptomatic but who's going to pay for medical visits. Jobs are hard right now and staying home isn't an option when your trying to hold on to your job; especially if you can't afford insurance or the the co-pay.

maria   April 27th, 2009 3:56 pm ET

I Would like to let you know that the rules of change flexability for airplaine to change flite, just give the airlineto make more buiseness, and its not fair for client. they have limit of 14 days to change but that 14days is not availabe for the same price, you would pay the differents, whats the use of helping people have kids to fly.

Sharon   April 27th, 2009 4:00 pm ET

Maybe the tornado will wipe out swine flu...

J.Johnson   April 27th, 2009 4:03 pm ET

Would the Republicans prefer to see people die in order to cut the
budget?Susan collins demanded the budget for flu be stripped in
order to get her vote. What is wrong with those people?

Dave Johnson   April 27th, 2009 4:04 pm ET

Rick, I really like your show, but I am totally sick of seeing the twitter comments on the bottom of the screen. They are so distracting from your show and most are snide sarcastic remarks from people who don't know enough about what they are talking about(not that I do) to have their opinions on national TV. It's surprising to me how cynical and hateful people are. I vote for you to dump the on screen twitter remarks.Could I have a response?

Debbie From Houston   April 27th, 2009 4:29 pm ET

Regarding the Swine Flu problem, what about people that are allergic to eggs and cannot get the flu vaccine? What medical advice is there for these people, and can they take the Tamiflu?

john Agnew   April 27th, 2009 4:31 pm ET

When this first broke in Mexico City, The first thing I thought was about how Obama had just been there. Now I understand that a man who met with, and gave an archeological tour with our president has now died from the swine flu. Question: Is it possible that someone had targeted Obama with this outbreak by contaminating people who would be in contact with him? It seems that Mexico would be a much easier place to try and use biological material to infect our president, and flu would be an easy way to get close to someone in an infectious state, without being overtly obvious. Just a thought! Someone should maybe consider the possibility. Thanks John

Gene Mitchell   April 27th, 2009 4:53 pm ET

Rick, whats with all the talk about Obama making us unsafer. If you can take an enemy and change or at least neutralize him isn't that one less thing to worry about? Also why all the critism about Obama trying to do to much? I realize we just got rid of a guy who could only handle one thing at a time and that may be giving him to much credit. Shouldn't the President of the United States be able to deal with more then one problem at a time? Has the abilty to multi-task gone out of favor? Thank God we now have a President who can answer a question with an intelligent response and actually seems to know what he is talking about. Just for your info I'm a 76 year old military veteran of the Vietnam War and an independent voter. By the way could you tell Wolf that I give Obama an A for his first 100 days.

Have there been any comments about dizzyness being a symptom of the swine flu?

RJ   April 27th, 2009 11:36 pm ET

look these viruses are basically all the same, most healthy people have the usual symtoms and fight it off like so called normal viruses, its the people well lets just say natures way of weeding out the weak. The strong shall survive, and with the population only growing and the world is still the same we will have mass death its natures way, If you dont believe that then you better hit your history books again and you`ll find many mass pandimics that killed not only thousands but millions and the strong will survive.

Bob Schmidt   April 27th, 2009 11:40 pm ET

Concerning Swine Flu:
I always protect myself on airplanes from germs and viruses with my portable ionizer called the "Fresh Air Buddy" from Ecoquest. I just bought one for my wife to use this week for our Florida vacation. We are so glad we have these things! They say they are as protective (or more) than a surgical mask. I hope that's true because I'm concerned for our trip back on Friday now with this Swine Flu virus spreading.

davis   April 28th, 2009 3:47 pm ET

hey rick, is this really swine flu or is there any connection with this outbreak of so called swine flu and the 3 vials of whatever it was that cnn reported stolen last week from somewhere in u.s.?

The GOP is showing it's true corse it is now the grand "OLD" Party, It is time for a change; And America has raised it's voice and this time around it was heard. The GOP had 8 years to show it's leardership ability and for 8 years and proved it could not do the job so it is now their trun to sit on the side lines... The Bashing from the GOP chair was just that bashing. We turn a deaf ear...

DIANE BRYANT   April 29th, 2009 3:55 pm ET

Given that CNN aired the speech by the Director of Agriculture, pleading with American's that Swine Flu does not come from pork consumption, and purposely called the Virus by the name of H1N1, then why does CNN continue to call it Swine Flu? Part of the problem with pork consumption, is that folks hear the word "swine", and that causes panic to purchase pork. I see his point. Also, Sect of Homeland Security and also all other speakers are now calling it H1N1, why won't the media follow suit?
