LOVES your show Rick! Thank you!
Can you please help get the "Edgar Mitchell" story into your "conversation"
I know we are evolving faster then ever and "the truth will set us free"
We have been stuck in our "bubbles" for too long, believing the
stories we tell ourselves and the stories "they" tell us. We need to stop
silly 3rd grade name calling and discuss FACTS. I believe we CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH.
Isn't a bit narcisstic to believe we are the ONLY living creatures in this
infinite universe?
What are people really afraid of? (ie:the name callers?)
I don't know about you but looking at this planet as a whole....we
could use some help from a higher intelligence.
Our problem (as we continue to learn..thanks to you) is we continue
to give our power away to the greedy and the corrupt. How long do we
have to learn "FEAR" is just a four letter word. Delete FEAR from this world and our "monkey mind chatter"
and just imagine the possibilities .....
(and the GIFT we can leave for our kids)
Take Care!!!!
PS:we are infinite consciousness! Together OUR power if we choose
to believe this...PRICLESS!!!

Let me guess. This is your crack team of researchers combing your usual sources for todays talking points(the huffington post, daily kos, media matters, msnbc.com, The Nation, Air America). What a joke.

GatsbysShadow   April 21st, 2009 12:30 pm ET

Ah so this is the Team.

Thanks for bringing us probably the sweetest News show of all time. Not gonna lie, after much watching and internal debate, Lou Dobbs is now only my #2 favorite CNN show.

Great idea mixing Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace with the news. Gotta love being able to express opinion and see other's opinions on the news. You guys also keep a lot of positive stories in there too, a nice break from all the pessimism out there.

So congratulations, you are my favorite news show, and amoung my very favorite all around shows to watch on TV. Keep up the good work and look for GatsbysShadow on Twitter!

Rick here's a follow up on the PTSD story. In 03, I suffered a stroke, a heart attack, and deveioped complications of pneumonia. I also have other diseases associated with PTSD. I am currently going through a drawn out appeals process. I have undisputed evidence of the VA and DAV cover ups and conspirqacies. America needs to know how its guardian angels are really being treated. Give me the name of a contact person and an address and I will send you this material by certified mail. A decorated combat trained Veteran.

Rick,

I would like to get more of a sense of your thoughts on Obama’s foreign diplomacy, particularly in the wake of his hand shake and gift acceptance from Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.

I feel he is sorry that the United States is the strongest country in the world. Certainly weaker countries in military, economy and political strength turn to the US for support and enemies will look at near apologies as a weakness and try to leverage this to their advantage on a world stage.

I certainly did not agree with the Bush administration stiff arm mentality on foreign policy but pessimism is not an answer…

Fred R DeLeon SR   April 21st, 2009 1:48 pm ET

Rick Sanchez.........as a moderator for a debate you are a fiasco. You just couldn't put order in yesterday's debate. On top of that you looked enjoying such stupid man abusing the lady cutting her off . We understand you are an a** kisser. That's OK. But also you showed a LACK of respect for the lady and people watching CNN. You should lern more from Blitzer. When he sees his guests are getting out of line
Blitzer very takes over and quite them down USING a very professional
attitude. You are a fake. You know it. Caballero.....how can you sleep at night?.

Dalmo Accorsini   April 21st, 2009 3:29 pm ET

Rick, your report about the MST in Brazil is wrong and misleading. This group is like the pirates in Somalia, they go into high profile productive properties and hold for money! They're tugs that's it!

Cecilia   April 21st, 2009 3:32 pm ET

Dear Rick,

What is happening in Brazil regarding the land takeover by the government is what exactly happened to Cuba. People that nievly supported Castro thinking he would help the lives of the poor, took over the lands gave some to the poor and later took it all back and destroyed what the lands were meant to produce. Brazilian government will do the same, just like South Africa. Are you supporting this? Ceci, NYC

georges sanon   April 21st, 2009 3:43 pm ET

I am apalled by the Gay community behavior. It seems that they do not tolerate dissent. It is cheer discrimination to deny a young lady the tittle she rightfully earned because she desagree with the gay movement dictate. she said honestly what she believes in. I happen to agree with her. i agree with civil union for gays and their civil rights as americans. But I believe as mis america that Mariage should be between a man and a woman. is the gay community coming after me now. Warning they are turning decent people agains them by being intolerant themselves. Shame on the gays. By the way miss california U R my miss America.

Cecilia   April 21st, 2009 3:45 pm ET

Dear Rick,

Regarding the 21horses that died all being from Venezuala, could the government of Venezuela be involved? Ceci

Tim Simon   April 21st, 2009 3:47 pm ET

Rick,

I just heard you state that 2% of Brazil's population owns ~50% of the country's land. Why not put this into a relative perspective for your viewers?

The top 1% of U.S. citizens own 37% of the total wealth of this country.

I would advise you to read Edward N. Wolff's book "Top Heavy: A Study of the Increasing Inequality of Wealth in America" (1996) which is where the above statistic comes from.

The numbers may have shifted slightly since then but nothing has fundamentally changed. There is some hope in leveling the playing field with creative technological companies (Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.) but as we have seen with the burst – the majority of these companies are fiscally unreliable.

If average citizens were intelligent enough to realize this huge disparity – we would (unfortunately) have daily violent outbursts very similar to the one you just showed in Brazil.

I am not sure what is the best solution here – but I do know one thing – It is not in the best interest of people like Ted Turner to allow this information to spread.

Tim

Police Officer in El Paso should be fired. He violated 1st Amendment righs of all Citizens and does not deserve to wear a badge.Newsman represents Freedom of Speech. If police were doing anything wrong it must be recorded. If police doilng nothing wrong no reason for his conduct.

Bruce A. Gavin   April 21st, 2009 4:05 pm ET

Rick
It certainly did not take long for the bleeding hearts to rush to the cause of the captured Somali.
What would their sentiment be if God forbid Capt. Phipips had not survived the incident, which was a very real possibility had it not been for decisive and effective intervention by Americans who knew how to deal with it. This guy and his friends were not there on an international good will mission!
I wonder if the Phillips family would have spent a New York minute wondering if his assisin is 16 or 18 !
It would have been far more efficient and cost effective if our Seals gave him the same message they did his cohorts . He was there,he was complicit,he should be held accountable.

Get It Right   April 21st, 2009 4:13 pm ET

Concerning the alleged craigslist killer: He's a pre-med student, not a medical student and there's a big difference. He must not be so bright if he allegedly contacted these women from his own personal computer.

Chuck   April 21st, 2009 4:20 pm ET

Your show is the most useless hour wasted on all of TV.....nothing more than an hour long INFOMERCIAL!!!! on for 10 seconds.....commercialls...back for 20 seconds....more commercials. Surely CNN can find something better to fill that hour time slot. Comments on Facebook...Twitter etc is totally stupid.

Get It Right   April 21st, 2009 6:11 pm ET

This time I got it wrong and will correct myself. At first the news media reported that the alleged craigslist killer was pre-med. Now we know he was a medical student. But I stick with my belief that he's still not too bright. Maybe he knows science but he sure doesn't know computers. I have a friend whose husband has been a doctor for more than 20 years and couldn't program a VCR 10 years ago.

John   April 21st, 2009 8:07 pm ET

Hi Rick,
Watching the Somali pirate story on your show today I noticed as the pirate was going to court he had a big smile on his face. He will probably have better living conditions in the U.S. if convicted. All at the expense of the U.S. taxpayers.

jbstaley   April 21st, 2009 11:49 pm ET

The officer had every right to ask the journalist to leave, being parked in the inward median of a busy road is hardly safe. Conversely though, the cop doesn't seem to recognize he has NO CAUSE to arrest the reporter, only to make him move on for safety concerns. The officer also is unclear on the concept of reporting; the guy's there to get a routine story about a collision, not to interfere. He just made himself the story by refusing to let the guy go once he scared him into submission. An abuse of power from a man with a Napoleon complex.

tony mursalim   April 22nd, 2009 3:28 pm ET

dear rick ,bush/cheny only defence is US not been attack in 8 years. In fact casualty is worse than 9/11 itself, 4000 soldiers died,20000 soldiers wounded badly, debt trillion(not investment) and economy in shambles. So its even worse. Pls explain yur audience tks/rgds tony

Re: wind energy. Why don't we place the turbines on interstate freeways? We own the land and they have a constant wind flow from the cars. The freeways are ugly enough already. AH

Tarquin   April 22nd, 2009 5:57 pm ET

Rick Sanchez rears his ugly head again!!!I am from S. Florida and he is one of the most biased Lantinos I have ever heard He had a show here but it didn't last long because noone watched it!!!I happened to turn the televisio on and there he was talking to someone about the (reverse bias) of white people!!! Well, come down to Miami if you want to see bias!!!They do not speak English anymore. And he is a great supporter of this!!!I do watch watch Wolf Blitzer and think he is great. But I can not imagine what CNN is thinking when they hired him Surely there must be someone else they could hire. I know I will never watch his show again--ever!!!

vick   April 22nd, 2009 6:08 pm ET

Perez is an abomination, a wonna be woman, he is an insult to society, and he knews it. He is using this agenda to put his gay message out. He/she should be ashamed, but he is bold, bashing a beauty like Ms. California to express his I want a man agenda. His actions, his words, his deeds are wrong, wrong wrong and they will find him. I disrespect what he said about not apologizing give him credence with the devil. He is insane if he thinks it hurt anyone but him. Ms California said she would pray for him, as you would do for any enemy. Perez is just a gay man who at best is trying to advance his on agenda (gay rights).

Richard Martinez   April 22nd, 2009 8:31 pm ET

Do you want to change this world? I have a new way of making power and change this world. But no one wants to listen.I call it clean power, and it can clean are world in three ways.Put are people back to work now! Also we would be the power of the world. The way are country is headed to war. That how we made it out of are problems last time. But if I can reach the right person. We can get out of this mess, and clean up are world at the sametime.I 'm only the inventer, and want to see this source work. Thanks for your time.

ok anyaibe   April 23rd, 2009 12:46 am ET

on the issue of discrimation against the white firefighters, i have two
comments. first, as a black man, it is so embarassing that no black
officer was able to pass that test. This is the type of failings that cause
pathological shame and self-hate you find in people like justice thomas.
second, in a vocation that is reknown for bravery, courage and selflessness, why should promotions be based on some classroom
exercise? On 911, on that twin towers, the egghead firefighters perished together with the stonehead ones. both equally qualified
in my book.

Martin Ramirez   April 23rd, 2009 11:37 am ET

Hi Rick and congratulations on your excellent job! Please do your best to follow up with the new benefits from Making Home Affordable (Obama's housing program) our home loan is currently with Countrywide/Bank of America and apparently they don't know when the program will be implemented on their database's. They are sending NOD notices to a lot of customers stating that the "Investors" are not yet signing/approving the new Making Home Affordable program yet.

President Obama, Democrats & Republicans…

As an example of bipartisanship — The American People will compromise too…
Combine Medicare and Medicade with Universal Healthcare.
Offer it to all Americans. They can choose any doctor they wish to.
Charge a standard copay upon visit and for also for Rx.
Do this at the state level using valid state issued identification (i.e. state id or drivers license but NOT with federal health cards). Allow the states to run these programs but utilize a standardized system.

KEEP YOUR TAX CREDITS AND GIVE US HEALTH CARE

Just how many people actually get to use these TAX CREDITS that file with a 1040EZ form? Not a whole lot. We dont want or need all of these tax credits.

Ben   April 27th, 2009 3:58 pm ET

Smart people don’t fight with brute force, they use their brains. We have more intelligent people in America, than fool, we shouldn’t let the fools hijack the nation and drag our reputation in mud.

this swine flu is not a Mexican flu ,it's a al-cida flu, why else is there no flu in the middle east?

Mitch valentine   May 3rd, 2009 4:25 pm ET

Hey Rick! Just want to drop you a line regarding transportation. How many different kinds of fuel can we put directly in our tanks and safely run our vehicles? If you don't know the answer, you have NO BUSINESS owning and operating an Internal Combustion vehicle/device. My IC devices run on my own fuel, AQUALINE. It is 60% water, the rest a flammable liquid that mixes with water, like alcohol. It is, in fact, alcohol. This is in ANY UNMODIFIED IC engine.
I can also modify any IC engine to run SOLEY on water, using the same principal found in AQUAGEN devices to superefficiently create HHO gas at the point of ignition. This creates enough heat to turn the water it generates into steam. Very powerful steam, much more than gasoline.
Point is, there is nothing wrong with our cars. There is some thing wrong with US. But for every problem, there is a countless number of solutions. More than one way to skin a cat indeed. Peace.

will mella   May 5th, 2009 3:32 pm ET

Rick as a cuban american journelist, I.m suprise you have not pick up on the case of Luis Ramirez, the mexican kid from Schuylkill, county, PA, this young man was lynch by a white mob who were found not guilty of murder, I' m dissaponited on our elected leaders, incluiding Ms Velasquez, the chair person of the hispanic caucus, or any other leader, Rick just imagen if this young man will have been a african american, Al sharpton and every congrensinal blacks member wil have been in CNN demanding a federal investigation on this matter, the mexican american congresman that I have contac, they don't care.Rick if this will have been a cuban american, you could bet that Mel Martinez, Bob Menendez will have been in from of all newsmedia. matt   May 5th, 2009 4:17 pm ET

Rick, whats with the tabliod journalism, demonizeing John Edwards sexual indiscecions, which are none of our business, and do not effect the taxpayers. If your are concerned about coruption and morality, lets talk about a current president who gives billions to wall street, who funded his campaign,ie (tarp), or admitted to sniffing cocaine in the past. Or a previous a previous president who authorized torture, and gave billions to war profiters like black water, haliburton, ect. all of these, are far more ,serious morale violations than infildelity, quit pandering to the swallow desperate house wifes of america, who are the only ones who care about the John Edwards issue.

matt   May 5th, 2009 4:22 pm ET

I ment shallow desperate house wives, not swallow, sorry

mike   May 6th, 2009 3:30 pm ET

why is everyone arguing about the law. it was broken and people not only suffered but at least one was killed. if i did that i would be under the jail. is this what we teach our kids, its ok as long as you are powerful. where is the extreme religious right now. would God allow this to be happening.

cindy   May 6th, 2009 4:01 pm ET

the reason Mr. Bush as they call President Obama "Mr." he has so much money it come from him getting oil money from when it sky rocketed before he left office

Lola   May 12th, 2009 6:23 pm ET

Yes, Miss Prejean's reply was the reason for her losing the crown and had another contestant rec'd the same question, felt the same and replied truthfully the outcome would've been the same. This Hilton "whatever" is a coward by taking his personal views out on a person who had the courage to answer with her heart and NOT WITH MALICE. This Hilton showed Malice instead. He shouldn't have been a judge as he is not professional nor adult-minded. Hilton and other gays have to realize that not all people agree with same-sex marriage. The state of Cal spoke on this matter TWICE and shouldn't have to say it again... I thank you for your time.

J.Garza, Jr.   August 4th, 2009 5:17 pm ET

Rick Sanchez, CNN
Rick, as a fourth generation American of Mexican descent, I want to expound on Sen. McCain's comment of including more Hispanics in politics. First of all, as you stated "competent Hispanics", this will be very hard to achieve unless the native Hispanics of his great country stop exploiting government programs, stop having illegitimate children, stop dropping out of school, stop their criminal behaviour, and stop blaming white America for their many faults, than we can think about participating effectively in the political arena. Native Hispanics of this country should be ashamed of themselves when, by your own account, Cubans not born here, hold positions as you do! By the way, only 1% of the native Hispanic population of this country hold a Masters degree. Good luck finding competent Hispanics, Sen. McCain!

Rudy Lucas   August 4th, 2009 8:54 pm ET

Rick – this is regarding the comments made by Sen. John McCain about competent Hispanics; first of all, why should any body pay attention to what McCain says. This guy is a no body who got fame because hewas shot down? and because he was a POW? he should be greatfull he lives in a country like the USA, if he was from my country and got caught in battle he would be shot instead, because of being "incompetence"

I have nothing agains white Americans, but we must be honest and admit that white Americans are extreamly lazy and has no intelligence. I know for sure that there are more than 1% of hispanics who holds high paying jobs because I am one of those hispanic professional. If you look around high tech industries and hospitals you could not avoid to see that 90% of the scientist and engineers are NOT Americans; McCain speeks of competency-he is sorounded by incompetent people; if he was so competent-why didnt he use his competency to win the war in Iraq. McCain and all his incompetent buddies lost the war and had more than 4500 young brave men and women killed because of their stupidity and incompetency.
