what missed 2.20

Is that what I THINK it is on the road? (KUTV)

Snow shuts down traffic in the Sierras...but you won't believe what ground drivers to a halt in Salt Lake City this week!

And how much raw sewage flowed into the San Francisco Bay?

Watch this clip and see what other stories Rick Sanchez didn't show you this week.

I want Eric Holder to clarify his Nation of Cowards comment. Does he believe all races are cowards or just caucasians are cowards? If he thinks only one certain race are cowards (no matter what race), he should resign from his US Attorney General post. He cannot be impartial with that attitude. I realize that he is appointed to be mostly concerned about high government issues, but he has influence on the lower agencies, as well.

Most well run community banks have managed their risk, and their boards haven't approved multimillion dollar bonuses. They deserve to be specifically separated from the medias generalities regarding "banks

I don't really want to join your facebook or myspace places, I just want to tell you that I've been impressed w/ the coverage I've seen coming from you. Just watched the Hannity call out and saw one the other day where someone just started spewing crazy nonesense and you pointed out that it was, well, crazy nonesense.

It's possible that you're insulted by being congratulated for something so basic. I hope not. If you are, just watch a little of any other news show (with the exception, of course, of Bill Moyers)

Starting to look like real journalism.

John Steinbeck   February 21st, 2009 9:28 am ET

Hey Rick,

Just saw an interesting clip of you distorting and attempting to smear Sean Hannity on Newsbusters.com.

So thats why passes as journalism in the lib biased media these days, eh?

I will dance on your and your fellow lib biased medias graves.

Why do some of your commentators address President Obama, by Mr. Obama. I never heard them address X President Bush by Mr. Bush.

Chuck   February 21st, 2009 11:40 am ET

Where was Mr. Stantelli when the mortgage companies were loaning 120% of the home’s value and selling people into dream homes they knew they could not afford. Was this realistic? I bet he would not loan money out like this for 30-years. The realtors sold the dream and hype the value upward; the mortgage companies kept coming up ways to make it happen using low up-front payments only to balloon later; Wall Street and security underwriters cooked the books and package the loans as triple-A investments; and, the SEC regulators look the other way while sticking their palms out to be greased. That all it was pure and simple. Crooks…crooks…crooks…crooks. You and your buddies take a hard look at yourself, Mr. Stantelli. The bank are going to be federalized because of these shenanigans you probably knew about and understood and made lots of money off-of. It is time you and your buddies begin to jump out the windows. Let us get some moral, honest, and less greedy folks running the show.

If you read your email and address the questions I will tune in to your program. I have always enjoyed your work, but left CNN because of the unabashed love fest over BHO during the election. It was irresponsible journalism, if it could even be graced by that word.

My question is"why does CNN leave headline news in the line-up and close the comments for any or all of the articles?" Many people will read their news hours or days after it is posted. If it is in the headline news it should remain open. If comments are closed it should be archived in a list of "yesterday's news" or "news of the week." Anyone would be able to access the articles, but just not comment on them. It should be stated at the beginning of the article that comments are closed for that particular piece.

Why is it when we talk about race or have a Forum we never see an all caucasians (White) audience. After racism is what they created long time ago. Maybe that a part of history that they don't know.

Guillermo Palomo   February 21st, 2009 3:42 pm ET

Hey Rick Felicitaciones for your show. Always on the cutting edge. Please mention those homeowners who are struggling to pay their mortgages but put down a large sum of money and were paying on time until recently. Don't you think preference should be given to them? Nobody is talking about this issue. I know I can count on you.
Thanks

I am a California native. Once upon a time - our educational system (K-12) was rated very high among the 50 states. (Then came prop 13.) As time passed, our educational system became so bad, that it is now rated near the bottom.

We may be near the bottom of the list, but, i think the whole list has dropped so far down the latter of educational quality, that its actually frightening. Frightening in the sense, that most people might be hard pressed to function or find jobs in a 21st century economy.

There have always been people, many people, who for one reason or another ended their education without finishing grammar school, without finishing high school, or with a high school diploma. (A high school diploma meant a lot more than it does today.)

Back then, it was not nearly as big an issue as we have today. The country did its own manufacturing and there were thousands (even hundreds of thousands) of family farms. Many relatively good productive jobs were to be had. We know what happened to manufacturing and family farms. (I'm still working on how the manufacturers and corporate farms can still claim to be such uber-patriots.)

California legislators (with the Govenor's input) just pased a state budget that again hits the easy targets (e.g., the poor, the aged, the education system) with large cuts in funding. (It goes without saying, I would go on much longer here if I tried to address problems of the poor and the aged. So, I will stick to education.)

Now on to the question. - if the mass of people that populate this country continue to receive such poor education (and its getting worse), who are the people that will work in all the 21st or, dare I say, space age factories? Those factories that we say (or know) we have to create to supply ourselves and the rest of the world with necessary, advanced technology to break the backs of issues such as global climate change, hunger, cancer, aids (etc.), and our own failing economy??

Ralph   February 21st, 2009 9:27 pm ET

Why not lower the retirement age. Like to know the numbers that would retire. How many millions you think? Could be cheaper than the bailout price tag. Sounds like a good buy out for people that have to work 50 years Do you think gov. workers work that long?

mary c.   February 21st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

Even though I do not agree with the Post cartoonist, I do welcome all opinions – right or wrong, after all that is what freedom of speech is!!!
I am afraid that from now on we have to be careful of what we say about President Obama otherwise a riot or protest will break out. what is that! That is dangerous, I am afraid we are being force to only have one opinion. We might loose the very freedom our forefathers and young men who have fought wars to protect this right -freedom of speech.
I hope the cartoonist was only expressing his art and didn't mean it to be serious. I do not think he should be fire, not at all. This is only the beginning, if anyone who expresses an opposite opinion has to be fire or punished, then God help us.

ARNOLD KIRKBRIDE   February 22nd, 2009 3:19 am ET

Hi, The comment of being cowards, should have been "closet prejudice". Most whites, especially in the South do not like blacks.
Until, if ever, the poor people, which includes minorities and poor whites recieve a proper education, and are able to acquire decent jobs, they will continue to be a problem with society.
Why this is not evident to the government and the press, is beyond my comprehension.
The problem is well evident. Poverty breeds crime, in several areas. Drugs, gangs, and robberies.
If you take a young minority or poor white, and raise them in a decent envoirment, they will become in most cases, model citizens.
Wake up America. Arnold

Tim Nichols   February 22nd, 2009 3:52 am ET

In June of 2008 my wife and I decided to remove our retirement savings from our IRA and 401K accounts. They had fallen below the dollar value that was originally contributed. There was zero dollars contributed by employers .I believed at the time that this was a sound decision. The following months proved our decision to be correct.

The people in charge of my monies have proved over and over again that they do not have the integrity to handle large sums of money. AIG received $126 billion from the government after running their company into the ground and spent it frivolously and are asking for more. President Obama has said that there were so few controls on the first $350 billion that the government does not even know what happened to it. The first Trillion Dollars will cost each tax payer 3500 to 4000 dollars and the President said it might take 3 to 4 Trillion more to fix the financial situation.

If I was in a career and made the errors intentional and unintentional that the banking and financial industries have made, I would be out of a job not getting huge perks and bonuses to retain my employment. I tried to protect the money I have earned and it resulted in me getting charged with a 10% penalty. I do not have any problem paying income tax for the early distribution; however the 10% penalty is more than I can handle in the current financial climate.

I feel terrible for the people that have lost 40, 50and 60% of their 401K’s and the bankers and the Wall Street guru’s are receiving millions in bonuses, trips and other perks etc….. Their sense of reality is warped beyond comprehension.

I am 53 years old, it is sad that I probably won’t see, before I retire, the financial situation repaired. I am forced to rely on my own to set myself up for my retirement. It is a shame that greed, corruption and lack of control have put this country in this precarious financial state. The worst part is we have all been led to believe that these people were to be trusted. They are backed by our government i.e.. FDIC, the 10% penalty for early withdrawal we have been programmed to trust these institutions and the people who run them. The law was behind them until the world they created come crumbling down and they are being exposed for who they really are.

The regular Joe in the real world gets into financial trouble has a few options. Just keep going until the creditors take every thing, file bankruptcy, and try to dig out themselves, just leave it all behind and become homeless. I am sure there are many other avenues but the point is that we as a government have thrown an inconceivable wad of money at companies and people who do not live in a real world.

Normal law abiding people would have a difficult time doing the right thing with that kind of money. When it is put into the hands of the kind of leaders that we have in our financial institutions, let’s put it this way “ they just can’t help themselves”. I am the government along with 350 million other law abiding tax payers. We put representatives in place to be our voice. I think our voice in this case has ceased being our voice and become a CYA of the lack of control which was levied during the “good times” once it fell apart i.e.. Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac it is like lifting a rock , exposing the area to light and all the bugs start scurrying trying to find a place to hide again. This time the magnitude was so large there was no place to hide. So in their arrogant sociopathic way they asked the government to bail them out.

If President Obama’s prediction is correct each tax payer will pay 16 to 20K before this is all over. The trickle down effect is exactly that it is being set up just like Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. The top corporations and executives already have and are still thumbing their noses and collecting their money. They have proven this over and over since the bailouts began.

I will not be penalized for trying to protect my money even if the federal government can’t protect my tax money in bailout form. I am asking to have the 10% penalty waived for 2008 tax period

Margaret in Desperation   February 23rd, 2009 12:59 pm ET

Dear Rick,
I have written this letter in one variation or another at least 20 times since December 8, 2008 to Barack Obama and everyone in Washington who might have the power to do something. So much for wanting to hear from the people…if I get a response at all, it is an annoying ‘thank you’ form letter that boils my blood!!

Please air this letter. We need a populist uprising!

Dear Barack Obama,
I am sending my letter yet AGAIN to try somehow in this bureaucratic mess to get some attention.

You are all missing the point and are, with all due respect, coming across like the THREE STOOGES: Ben Bernanke, Tim Geitner, and Barack Obama.

What this country needs right now is not intellectual “i-dotters” and “t-crossers” that will take months if not years to evaluate all that is “toxic” right now in this country. This country needs a QUICK ENEMA.

You need to immediately without exception and without delay MANDATE that ALL loan interest rates, mortgage, credit card, auto, home equity, business, commercial, etc., new & existing, be automatically (no refi’s, no loan modifications, no bankruptcy judges required) reduced EFFECTIVE TODAY (!!!) to either 4% for the life of the loan; or 3% for the first 2 years, 4% for the next 2 years, and 5 % for the next 26 years. PERIOD!!!! AUTOMATICALLY! This would be fair to everyone and would quell the populist uprising. The heck with the banks; they will survive…or fail.

Of course (!) there will be fallout…those that can’t afford the loans even at these low rates. They will become obvious in a hurry without wasting time on endless analysis. But think about all the people that would be helped who have played by the rules and are now on the brink of disaster! And think about the nice SUSTAINED JOLT this would give to the economy! More SUSTAINED MONEY in everyone’s pocket…sure beats $13 per week!

How simple this could be if you would only try to save the forest rather than concentrating on each dying tree!

Please get with the program. Everytime any one of you speaks, our small business gets worse and the stock market tanks. Unfortunately, the three of you are making things much worse rather than better.

Sincerely,
Desperation

Hi Rick, I don't know w/c news this comment will fit but it's about housing problem. Everybody and every news talked about house and mortgage but I haven't heard about those who lost and/or about to lose their job and they are renting. Most low income who lost their jobs are renting and now they can't afford to pay the rent. Is there nothing that can be done to help us renters?

Chris Mills   February 23rd, 2009 3:07 pm ET

Oliver Cromwell of British history had something important to say. I believe it applies to the present state of the U.S government and the President's stimulus package: "None goes so far as he who knows not whither he is going."

Patti Scott   February 23rd, 2009 3:11 pm ET

A new day for Republicans?

The best thing the party could do is shed itself of the ridiculous moniker, the GOP. Grand Old Party my ..... it smacks of the Old South and all that stood for, not exactly something to appeal to young, progressive voters. As a matter of fact, every time I hear it, I need to G.O.Pee myself!

Angela Savage Austin   February 23rd, 2009 3:12 pm ET

I would like to suggest to you what I believe would help all who are being laid off.

Instead of laying off an employee, why not give them (the employee) the option to continue to work at the unemployment rate of pay...still keeping their health insurance...still being productive and even cross-training to do other jobs necessary for the growth of the Company, until things improve and they will be the first rehired....possibly with a bonus. I know when I was no longer working, I just became depressed...because I had to work , I needed to work. Today I still have not found another job and I receive unemployment. I rather be working, I rather be productive. I feel that we can better serve ourselves, both employers and employees with this type of an option. Production will not fail, companies will not go under, people will not feel disregarded or powerless, and we the employee will still be active, productive and appreciated. I really want you to hear this idea and see if something like this will help everyone concerned. If not please tell me why.

Sincerely,

Angela Savage Austin

Obama and the Democrats really need to watch their backs. The Republicans are pissed off and they will do anything to discredit, to bring down and to make Obama and the Democrats look bad. The 6 governors that don't want the stimulus money even though the poorest Americans in their state may need it is just because they are truly afraid that Obama's plan will work and will do anything to stop it. Obama and the Democrats, along with the few brave Republicans need to stay the course. The Republicans are using the new Republican Chairman who is an African American as a puppet so they can do whatever they want to do and not be called racist. They're saying that they want to work with Democrats but they don't. No one is saying that this mess is one that Bush and the Republicans got us into and it will take years to get out of it. Also,no one is saying the demographics of the country is changing and that persons of color will soon no longer be the minority but will really become the majority. I hope the American people are not fooled. The Chairman of the Republican party is just a wolf disguised in sheep's clothing.

Fiscial responsibiltiy & not Free flow of money brings prosperity & long term sustanability. This is true both for a Lottery winner as for the common American.
Easy money from Lottery or Stimulus payment ( freebie ) is not going to solve the Maerican recession issue, rather a disciplined approach to saving & spending will.

When will we all understand it?

Mike, Albuquerque, NM   February 23rd, 2009 3:52 pm ET

First you say that you didn't want to discuss Bristol Palins pregnancy due to lack of relevance, then you discuss it. For what?
A more relevant question would be:
Why do creationist evangelicals vote for 'Social Darwinist' politics???

Dear Rick,
If u ask me I will give Pres. I think they should keep their mouth shut and let President Obama run the country. I want to add that we need new blood in both party too so we think about country not their seats.

Converse-ing with Republicans....they did get the Converse outta the White House. When are they going to get that thru their thick collective skull? Forcing a level of seeming political stalemate in an actual Democratic political landslide is in fact actually creating greater economic uncertainty and of course a greater slide in the markets.

Good one!! Great for international markets!! (I'm of course being sarcastic but I dont think they'll understand that!)

Did Sarah Palin approve her daughters interview with FOX

Panchndbox   February 23rd, 2009 3:54 pm ET

Why is the condition of this country's economy less important to the Republicans than their pitiful attempts at continuing the Bush policies and idealology? I am Hispanic and I did not vote for President Obama because he is black. I voted for him because he is on the ball. Republicans, can you say "out of touch?"

Lee   February 23rd, 2009 3:58 pm ET

It is very evident that you did NOT watch the Brisol Palin interview or you would have known that Sarah DID NOT know about it until 1 hour before it happened. If you are going to report the news GET IT RIGHT.

Also Rush did not say that he hoped the President would fail, what he said is if Obama has a socialist agenda THEN I hope he fails. Once again get your reporting correct.

Please report the truth not the one sided agenda that you seem to have.

M. Simon   February 23rd, 2009 3:59 pm ET

When Gov. Palin displayed daughter Bristol with her boyfriend to the entire nation, then allowed Fox to interview Bristol after her baby's birth, how can she expect respect for their privacy? Besides, she was seen clearing the table then giving Bristol her baby during the interview. It's too bad her expected photo op did not go as she had planned.

The Gov got away with her exaggerated comments about Alaska's bridge to nowhere but failed to mention she took the funds & spent it on something else. This time her firm resolve on abstinence is not consistent with her daughter's behaviour. If the Gov really wants
privacy for her kids, she should not have used them during the
campaign & after. But, she continued to use them at every turn until
Bristol spoke up her mind about abstinence to her Mom's favorite
Fox News. Now, that's supposed to be the reporter's fault?

Sandra in Atlanta   February 23rd, 2009 4:02 pm ET

Rick – I'm outraged at the way Republicans have responded to President Obama–specifically southern Republicans. It is quite clear that Sen. Shelby and others CANNOT STAND IT that a black man is president. I'm a caucasian grandmother in Atlanta (transplant from California to be with my grandkids in Georgia) and the racism is still very much alive here in the south. I see what many white people prefer to sweep under the carpet - racism both subtle and overt. Thank the Lord Obama is taking it in stride and this is just eating the Republicans up–they are grasping at any straw to undermine Obama. I hope some of the southern states don't accept stimulus money–they are stifling their own party and the sooner the better!!

Wilson   February 23rd, 2009 4:02 pm ET

If you really did think that the story of Sarah Palin's daughter was a private matter it certainly did not appear you felt that way or was this one more way to attach Sarah Palin? Her daughter's opinion is not Sarah Palin's opinion. What kind of journalism student were you or did you skip the classes? This kind of journalism just illustrates the biased opinions you illustrate on a daily basis on your show. I am glad I take it with a grain of salt and form my own opinion. However, you do have viewers that do not realize that a journalist is not to impose their opinion but report unbiased. Why don't you present a positive side of Sarah Palin for once?

Tresa Brown   February 23rd, 2009 4:08 pm ET

Rick,
It's amazing that the so called "Right Wing" Christians claim to believe in Jesus. They need to stop lying and embarrasing my Lord. They are only about themselves, pompus and greedy. They don't even know the word of God. Jesus was a socialist. He was about selling all to distribute to all where non suffer lack. He was about feeding the poor. If you don't take care of the poor, you have done this to Jesus. They better stop lying and get genuine in their hearts for who they serve, cause it sure isn't Jesus Christ. Racism really does blind you. It puts you in a box where you can't serve the Lord but destroy his message and purpose. They're sick and can't help themselves. The lust of greed and selfishness has taken over.

ID   February 23rd, 2009 4:10 pm ET

Rick, I just caught your comment on CNN about president's Obama citizenship. He is born in USA but went to school in Indonesia; in order to attend Indonesian’s school you have to be a citizen of the country and they do not accept dual citizenship.
I'm not an expert but one day we'll know more about president Obama's personal life, just hoping that the facts will not make us more separated than ever before.
Good show,

I wonder: Could Southern states that might refuse Stimulus Package funds possibly be hoping that medicare patients & the unemployeed will then be forced to move to another state in order to receive benefits? What a plan to clear out your "non-productive" & desperate citizens.....
UGLY!

Reinold M. Hjerpe   February 23rd, 2009 4:17 pm ET

Re: Obama's birth certificate. On your TV program of Feb. 23, you flash a birth certificate for B. Obama. My question is, did you look at the item indicating the nationallity of that person? If it says that the person born was an African national, I was under the impression that Africa was a continent and not a country. I think the certificate should designate a country. I'm sure a person born in the United States is not said to be a North American. Also is there a seal of the State of Hawaii stamped in the proper place? This is required on all birth certificates.

G G   February 23rd, 2009 4:27 pm ET

Rick....
Did any one of Democrat had guts to say that They want Pres. G. W Bush to fail, while they all wished he fail, and did everything in their power so that He fail, and make him fail, just to get back in to Power, at cost of our country's best prospects.

Now you have guts to compare and suspect the politics of Rush's comment and Gov. Jindal's comment about what They want. You should read and understand what Rush wants to fail. Rush and majority of American people want Pres. Obama's progress toward Socialism to fail, nor Pres. Obama to fail. Why can't Democrate have guts to say out loud that they want to take our country to Socialism?

Walter C. Wilhelm   February 23rd, 2009 4:28 pm ET

We continue to hear that Washington has to fix the Social Security Program. Why is there not a push by the American Citizens to force our federal legislators to par take in same SS that you and I do, rather than there own plush plan. I am sure SS would get fixed real fast if we were all on the same page.

More so than ever in Washington DC, there is the attitude to do as I say not as I do. They criticize every thing others do then turn around and do the same thing. Point in hand, Pelosi working three days a week in Washington and her new jet to take her back and forth to California. What is with this Queen Nancy?

Google Pelosi's Plane and see what you get. Security my hind side.
The only thing she wants to protect is her huge ego.

I received the following in an e-mail from a friend.

Remember the big flap about Sarah Palin's dresses?

Americans! Where are you? Are you awake? We haven't heard any comment on "Queen Madam" Pelosi's snit about having to ride home in the small private, economy jet that comes with the Speaker's job. Remember how Madame Pelosi was so aggravated that this little jet had to refuel while transporting her to California everyweek? Remember that she insisted on a luxurious 200 seat jet to fly her to California nonstop, instead?

Hello Folks! Are you awake? Can't you muster even a little indignation?

Washington legislators who observed the Madam's Big Fat jet grinned with glee as Joe Biden informed everyone that Nancy's luxury Jet will require hard working American tax payers, to buy thousands of gallons of expensive jet fuel every week. She only works 3 days a week but her gas guzzler luxury jet flights home, to California , costs taxpayers $60,000 one way! As Joe noted, 'Unfortunately we have to pay to bring her back on Monday night,' so there goes another $60,000.

Folks, that is $480,000 per month or an annual cost to taxpayers of $5,760,000. And she complains about the cost of the war? She could take the smaller jet which she says would cramp her style - but since her flying in style takes precedence over war costs - what the hell, eh?

Military families in this country do without while this woman, who heads up the most do-nothing Congress in the history of our country, spends lavishly to fly herself and associates to and from California every week. That burns me!! How about you?

Madame Pelosi expects you and me to conserve our carbon footprint by driving smaller cars and buying a bicycle pump to over-inflate our tires for better economy while she and her hypocrite cohorts waste tax payer dollars.

You know what I think would be a great idea!

It goes like this…3,4,5!!! Across the board 3% interest rate on all loans for the next two years, effective immediately! Then it goes up to 4% for two years, then up to 5% after that! SHOW US OUR MONEY that we have worked so hard to make! The majority of us were working and saving and paying on time, while the irresponsible actions of others prompted by greed were digging the HOLE we are now in.

Why, give me one good reason, why the good honest Americans should have to clean up the mess???

Hi rick, I am delighted with the coverage and balanced angle you have taken in bringing unbiased news to your teeming audience.
In response to sean hannity who has endorsed a financial terrorist, I think this brings to bare the fact that hannity is a hypocrite and should be held responsible for misleading millions of his listeners. So many questions remain unanswered, how much does sean know of the dubious nature of this company before endorsing them, could he be part of the scam and knowingly deceive people into investing in this company. A lot we really need to know.

While pondering over the logic of the stimulus bill, I was also baffled that the package did not include more funding for infrastructure. After analyzing the circumstances, it came to fruition that substantially funding infrastructure would probably cause an even greater risk to our nation’s economy in that it would predominately employ the male population (workers and suppliers). This is not the same economy as during the 1930’s—the majority of women were not in the work force. In addition, America was under construction (as a whole) during this post Industrial Revolution era. The economy is currently more diversified (as opposed to the Public Works Project and the automobile industry). Employing the majority of males in a specific industry for the next 18 months would prove a catastrophe, especially after the construction market has been consumed. It only seems more rational that these jobs are broadened more widely. I am elated that our newly elected congress has exhibited enough conventional wisdom to appropriate this bill according to their best judgment, professional ability and tenacity. May I suggest that the American workers (and politicians) approach their jobs with the same efficiencies, stop the bickering and work together throughout our crisis.

As for the housing crisis….the market is saturated with up and coming first-time home buyers. The only criterion is that they’ll find the above mentioned jobs!

I was reading today of the discovery of a Mammoth unburied in L.A. that died about 10,000 years ago. I always find it fascinating how in 10,000 years, 1 mile thick ice sheets have melted over North America. I live on Vancouver Island. Some winters now we never even get snow. Yet 10,000 years ago there was ice 1 mile thick blanketing the entire island and North West. Unless we can account for the extra CO2 on CaveMen's fires, I'm thinking that global warming has been happening for sometime now. :D The fact that glaciers are melting today..well they seemed to be melting pretty quickly over L.A., Seattle, Vancouver...10,000 years ago too or Mammoths would still be walking around the streets of Portland! Nothing Man can do will ever stop this ice melt. It's been happening of thousands of years and it's not just going to stop in the year 2000. Yes we need to stop polluting the oceans and rivers....but global warming...Nothing to do with man. Just ask Big Wooley in L.A.

United we stand,divided we fall.
You are the United States of America and I think that you should stand together in these hard times. You are selling yourselves short.

Stop looking back, its 2009 and I can assure you that millions of people in the world suffering with no food,no shelter and no hope would gladly swop places.

I saw the clip with the police officer stopping the African American motorists and calling them the 'N' word. How can police officers protect the President if this is the way they feel? How can they protect the President if they're mentality is still racist which is shown by this use of the 'N' word. Not just the president but any African Americans – his mind was already made up when he stopped this car. If the president was in his town and he had to protect him, would he? Is this an isolated incident or are there more policemen like this – both you and I know there are more that would kill African Americans if they could. If the motorists in that car had made one wrong move he would have shot them. So please tell the President to watch his back because the threat may come from within.

Hey, Rick! The other day you went out of your way to bash Sean Hannity for giving a pitch for R. Allen Stanford, the financier who is being accused of an $8 Billion fraud, adding smugly, "We report, you decide."

Turns out a fund of hedge funds run by two members of Vice President Joe Biden's family was marketed exclusively by companies controlled by Stanford.

Will you be reporting on this, too, Rick? "Fair and balanced?" "We report, you decide????"

Just curious (but I won't be holding my breath).

In this crises' we are now, the government should allow legal Immigrants who paid Social Security to pay that money out, that they paid in,so they are able to can start a new existence in their home country. And it would help a bit for Jobs for Americans. Some Immigrants like to go in they're home country's, but they have no financial help to get a "new" live in the "old" country. (Like us)

Limbaugh is one of those pill popping, unintelligent, fat rednecks that should never be apologized to. His mouth is filthy and the GOP should distance themselves from a man like that. If he has any influence it will be the end of the GOP. His speech is racist and so are the old Republicans, the ones that live in the 1800.
Please take him off the TV screen, he has had enough showing. He is nothing o be proud of.

Rick,
The Senator from Indiana interviewed today has very little backbone as evidenced from your Q & A.When grown men representing citizens of this nation are afraid to speak their minds, they have forfeited their constituent's trust. Mike Steele is not the only one lacking a backbone.

ARNOLD KIRKBRIDE   July 23rd, 2009 2:15 am ET

In Regard to health care. Everyone including President Obama is missing the point, and the problem.
First of , who does not have Health Care? Children that are from low income familys, or Welfare have Health Care. Some adults, because they are low income, are eligible for health care.
Most Males working full time jobs have some form of Health care, and so do their wives, although most of them must pay for it. Some rates are reasonable, some are not. some women working full time jobs, also have the same options.
People who are 65 or older receive, at a cost of about $100 a month, decent health care.
First of all, who does that leave with no health care? Mostly it omits working woman and their children from ANY form of health care. They are the ones who need it the most. Divorced woman, who had health care, untill they were divorced, are also omitted.
So the lack of health care actually is a problem (a very serious problem), for people between the ages of 22 to age 64. These are the people that should be eligable for some kind of health care.
This problem is very close to my heart. I have had health care, for many years. My mother died, because she did not have any health care. My Sister died, because she had no health care. Her husband did not have health care, and when he died, he left my sister with Hospital and Doctor bills that ran into many thousands of Dollars. After she died, of course, the hospitals had no way to collect on the Balance owed. We, as a country are paying for that every time we go to the hospital.
Health care is not the only problem that this country is facing. The working class is paying higher costs for everything, in order to compensate for the people who don't pay.
If you buy something from a store, any store, the prices you pay depend on whether you are buying that item from a high shoplifting area or from a low shoplifting area.
When you pay the gas bill, or the electric bill, you are paying an additional amount to compensate for the people who do not pay for these utilities, and the companies compensate for that cost.
The final problem lies with company CEO greed, who in order to keep their income at Millions of dollars a year, make sure that the consumer pays enough to keep up their lifestyle, then you have bills that people can not pay, which completes the cycle of people that do not make enough money to survive.
I have much more to comment on, but this is part of Americas problems. Even President Obama, with all his good intentions will not be able to break this cycle. Thanks. Arnold Kirkbride
