Michael Who? Vick? Doesn't Ring A Bell... From T.J. Holmes You remember Michael Vick? A year ago this month, he had just been sentenced to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to federal dogfighting charges. A year ago this month, the city of Atlanta was divided about his guilt or innocence, even divided over whether race played a factor in his treatment by the NFL, by his team, and by the media. A year ago this month, Bobby Petrino, the then first-year head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, quit with three games left in the season to take a job at my alma mater, the University of Arkansas. A year ago this month, the Atlanta Falcons had a record of 3-11. Move forward to April of this year. The falcons pick a quarterback at number 3 in the draft. Some questioned the move and the money they paid him: $72 million. Now move forward to today. The Atlanta Falcons have a record of 10-5, and have clinched a spot in the playoffs. Their quarterback, Matt Ryan is a shoo-in for Rookie of the Year and becoming a frontrunner for league MVP. If you were a Falcons fan, would you remember Michael Vick?
